Still works to this day. Altering the setting while in game is buggy and not recommended, but at default setting this nets me +40 fps. Especially when playing modded. it disables shadows and some lighting so some quality of image is apparent but I take the extra fps. Rx 6800 Ryzen 5 5600
This mod does not accomplish what it advertises, at least not now in October 2023 with no apparent attention in two years. It seems to achieve worse performance than default, even if default values are carefully configured for it, so it seems to be imposing an overhead burden that remains to create poorer performance even with default values. Of course it's also possible that the description's claimed default values are no longer true and have themselves since been adjusted for better performance in last two years.
I think this mod is great. Gets the fps in my base from 20 to 50. I just have on problem: I can't set the MasterTextureLimit to 0 (default for valheim). I think my computer can handle it and it looks much nicer. After a lot of trying I figured out that I can set it to -1. Is it intended that I can't put in 0? Would 0 even be different to -1? Anyways, all in all nice mod!
Aye! are you using the default setting for this mods? if you config some can you share what settings you change to get into 50fps? cause I mine is 8-16 fps depends on the area but always laggy when im at my main base even i set the Vanilla Valheim settings all in low settings.
Great mod, my machine specifically hates the smoke effect sourced from fire and the rain + mist combination in the swamps. Any chance of an option to disable those effects while leaving the remainder of Valheim alone? Strangely enough my machine doesn't care about the Blizzards and keeps chugging along quite happily in any area aside from bases that have gotten a little to fire & smoke heavy and the SWAMP. Its extra bad when summoning Bonemass, who has an additional EXTRA GREEN RAIN EFFECT added to the already present layer of rain to become an absolute FPS B-U-L-L-Y.
This mod definitely does what it says, but jesus, it makes the game look like complete ass. I definitely recommend this to anybody who is running Valheim on a potato. I'll keep my garbage FPS, however.

Edit: I noticed that Sun light pass over the walls, there is a way to fix it? i want this like normal that doesnt pass the walls.
unisntalled it and immediately got my 30 fps back
