What about the structural integrity? I'm looking for mods that add reasonably immersive ways to up the structural limits beyond what can be done with iron, and consider blackmetal weapons are a good bit better than iron weapons, it'd stand to reason blackmetal build pieces should allow you to build taller than the iron pieces allow. Are the pieces in this mod better than corresponding iron pieces, or are they the same in terms of structural integrity?

Edit: Nope, seems to have the same integrity as iron.

In game i have the slot to build these in my build hammer tab but nothing is present inside it, any idea on how to fix this?

i have alot of other building mods integrated into my server and they all work so just wondering what could be the issue.

    thanks

Looking for help, I can get the mod to run on single player (local side), but I can't get it to run server side.  All dependencies are present on the server.

I know you say all dependencies are on the server, but if they were, it would work. Make sure you copied the plugins/MMHOOK and installed the hookgenpatcher

could you possibly make the durability double? 20% increase is almost negligible, Thanks for the epic mod tho!

nice addition to the game. can you possibly make black metal spikes? not only would they be visually good they would also add something of a nice upgrade to the core wood spikes.

It's a good idea. The wooden stakes are basically worthless as they would break before they stopped anything stronger than a Greydwarf. You also can only place them on the ground, which is nonsense. But to make a metal version would require a new texture, something I'm not that good at. And honestly, I probably don't have time for it.

what if you made the piece and use a proxy of the current model and texture. then a texture expert could texture it?

Yes, I could do it if somebody gave me a good looking texture.

Looks like a good mod, but I am looking for more "Stability" support structures.  If say this mod added +25% Stability for using Black Metal, and +50% if also using Ancient Bark for wooden pieces AND Black Metal, then I think it would CERTAINLY be a YOINK!

But since it seems to be just largely cosmetic, I am going to have to wait on it.  Sorry, I'll keep an eye on this and see how it changes over time.

I would love to have increased the support for these build pieces, but I didn't realize how complicated that is. For instance, the 'Durability' of a piece is just a number that each piece has, and so I just changed those numbers. But support is based on the type of 'Material' the piece is made from, and the support is derived from the material. The game only supports 4 types of materials: wood, stone, iron, and hardwood. You can read more about it on the wiki page. So, to increase the support for these pieces I would have to create a new build material for black metal. If you want black metal + ancient bark, that would be another type of material, as the piece can only have 1 material type.

So, in conclusion, I don't have any plans at this point to increase the support of these pieces. While anything is possible, It's just too complex of a job. I imagine this is why there are no there mods, that I know of, that add any new pieces that have more support than the iron wood.

With the new, higher metal requirements...does this mod add additional durability to each placed piece?

Not yet. I would like to increase the durability, and especially the stability of the poles and beams. I just need to learn how to do that. :)

Durability has been increased 20% in the latest version. It doesn't look like I will be able to change the support, though.

There are 2 sets: 1 that looks just like the iron wood, but requires black metal and wood, and another that is green and uses black metal and ancient bark.
