I spent hours trying to get this to work with a previously modded directory. This might seem like a lot of voodoo, but it's what got it to work for me. There might be some merit in just creating a new world after installing the custom raids mod so you can try that first if you want however; after a lot of trial and error this was my solution.
Disclaimer: I lost the items equipped in the slots provided by the Equipment & Quickslots mod doing this process. Maybe you can avoid it by backing up your character file as well.
1. Backup your current game folder at C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/Steam/SteamApp/Common/Valheim (I copy to desktop). 2. Delete your game folder in C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/Steam/SteamApp/Common/Valheim 3. Now do a fresh installation. 4. After the game installs, Install the BepInEx dependency and the CustomRaids mods, make sure you do this properly. 5. Launch game and create/join a new world, after loading in test a default event via the console like army_eikthyr. 6.Exit the world/game. 7. Copy the currently working config files for custom raids into the correct folder in your valheim backup, then replace the fresh install with your backup.
After these steps I simply put my raid code from below into custom_raids.raids.cfg and saved. I joined my old world and was able to get enemies to spawn during my custom event.

It's intent is to add more difficult raids. As you progress you will be raided with typical mobs corresponding to the zone you're progressing through. Greydwarfs always have a chance to spawn as a raid unlike any other tier in the progression map this is mainly for the purpose of the mod EpicLoot.

Hi! Great explanation, that's what was missing from the begging. I want to also share my custom raids, which I prepared for my hardcore server. The aim is to raise the difficulty as game progresses. These were tested and should work no problem. Please note StartMessage and EndMessage are in Polish, feel free to change it (or tranlate) to your language. This is WIP so may need some balancing.
I think this mod does not work properly anymore. Used it for years. But now nothing seems to work.
I have many raids defined in custom_raids.raids.cfg but for this post I will focus on one for testing sake.
I am using UseIndividualRaidChecks = true which shoudl mean that it overrides the overall raid check % and instead should leverage "RaidChance" in in the custom_raids.raids.cfg file.
I set RaidChance to 100 so it should 100% proc I set the MinimumTimeBetweenRaids = 2
When I start the game and sit in the plains for up to 20 minutes no goblin raid is proc'd I have no requirements below, not required to be near base, this should proc right in the plains anywhere....
My raid for testing:

So there are just so many things to get right for this to work, however ultimately I shot myself in the foot. I forgot that I set my WorldModifiers raid frequency to NONE LOL.
TOP TIP while testing things for other mods dont forget about these settings that can burn ya later! HA
The UseIndividualRaidChecks now works perfectly with RaidChance and RaidFrequency along with CreatureLevelControl extras :)
Works fine for me using Epic Loot, Creature Level & Loot Control, Cheb's Necromancy and approx 50 other mods loaded.
Naming conventions & file extensions issues ruin a lot of my friends configs. Changing 100's of things before checking if 5 or 6 function tends to create chaos.
Either way, great mod that works for some of us without issues. 🍻
I guess it would work for much more people, but problem lies in configuration. I'm a totally newbie and I even don't know how to set up this mod to begin with. I don't understand those lines and all. Some basic guide would be great.
It would be nice if posts like these that reference things working shared some configs.
I've been using this mod for years and know it very well and struggling to get anything work anymore, I use dropthat/spawnthat etc as well so I know Asharppen mods pretty good.
Somebody please come up with a fix in 2024 for this mod not showing up properly in config. Raids literally stopped once i downloaded it, didnt mind at first as i searched and searched for answers on how to setup the raids, but if the file doesnt have some way to be read or edited, well then i have to uninstall so that i can have some sort or normalcy in raids
How does this work with new Player progress based raids? Currently there are different triggers in this setting, instead of killing eikthyr for example, you just have to have pickaxe, etc
If I'm understanding everything correctly, I should be able to remove Meadows from all vanilla random raids, and only have the mod installed server-side, correct?
Same issue here mate. Not showing up in config. AND.... not one raid has occured since install.... whereas, before, a raid was happening frequently.
Ive done a new install with new game version recently after being away from the game for several months. It may be possible one of the other mods Ive installed has caused this problem. Will have some time today to play with it. Will report back should I discover anything.
UPDATE: Just deleted every mod except this one on its own and started a new game. Same issue.... doesnt show up in config at all. Likely just needs a tweak for the newest version of game... hopefully. Kinda dont want to play without this great mod.

I have many raids defined in custom_raids.raids.cfg but for this post I will focus on one for testing sake.
I am using UseIndividualRaidChecks = true which shoudl mean that it overrides the overall raid check % and instead should leverage "RaidChance" in in the custom_raids.raids.cfg file.
I set RaidChance to 100 so it should 100% proc
I set the MinimumTimeBetweenRaids = 2
When I start the game and sit in the plains for up to 20 minutes no goblin raid is proc'd I have no requirements below, not required to be near base, this should proc right in the plains anywhere....

The UseIndividualRaidChecks now works perfectly with RaidChance and RaidFrequency along with CreatureLevelControl extras :)
Works fine for me using Epic Loot, Creature Level & Loot Control, Cheb's Necromancy and approx 50 other mods loaded.
Naming conventions & file extensions issues ruin a lot of my friends configs.
Changing 100's of things before checking if 5 or 6 function tends to create chaos.
Either way, great mod that works for some of us without issues. 🍻
I've been using this mod for years and know it very well and struggling to get anything work anymore, I use dropthat/spawnthat etc as well so I know Asharppen mods pretty good.
Think I'll whack everything and start over....
Currently there are different triggers in this setting, instead of killing eikthyr for example, you just have to have pickaxe, etc
Not showing up in config.
AND.... not one raid has occured since install.... whereas, before, a raid was happening frequently.
Ive done a new install with new game version recently after being away from the game for several months.
It may be possible one of the other mods Ive installed has caused this problem.
Will have some time today to play with it.
Will report back should I discover anything.

Just deleted every mod except this one on its own and started a new game.
Same issue.... doesnt show up in config at all.
Likely just needs a tweak for the newest version of game... hopefully.

Just as there are the Greydwarf as "ForestMonsters" and the Draugr as "Undead".
I want to add more Seekers and Dverger to my raids but I need them to belong to their normal faction.
Does anyone know how their factions are called?
And while on that topic what faction do the hares and black slimes belong to?
