I'm sorry and I understand that you're disappointed. if you don't want to use my mod, then at least the base game now has quick stacking (or 'place stacks' as they called it) to the currently open container. if you want to give my mod a try, then it only takes a few config changes to disable everything except for quick stacking. if you want, I can also add a config template for that for you.
do know that we didn't deprecate this mod because "more features = better". there have also been a lot of changes and fixes behind the scenes for this to still work in the current version of valheim in a modern mod list with dozens of other popular mods. it also was not abandoned because my mod was released. damnsneaker could no longer maintain this mod regardless. he just made it official by putting the deprecation note on it, so people stopped downloading a mod last updated in 2021.
I understand the simplicity of having a mod that does exactly one thing. that's why I usually release mini mods. with quick stacking to the currently open chest now being a base game feature, if you wanted this mod only for the feature of quick stacking to nearby chests, then maybe AzuAutoStore with disabling 'pull items from the ground into containers' might also be what you are looking for
For some reason the options for not ignoring ammo isn't working. I can have 50 arrows in a chest and choose to stack 50 and it won't remove them from my inventory, regardless of ammo setting. In my case I was trying Bronze Arrows, single player. Other items seem to work.

Secondly - yesterday when playing in multiplayer (my own dedicated server) we lost couple of items when I used your mod. It seems like items sent from my inventory overwrote items in one container (which i probably havent opened before = my client/mod didnt know what content is there). I have no idea how your mod is working, but is this possible? And do you recommend to have this mod also installed on the server or is client enough, because now I am the only one having it.
I think I had a similar thing happen to me just now. Private dedicated server, had picked one surtling core in a cave earlier and put into a chest. Went back to the cave and got another surtling core, returned to my chest, used QuickStack. The second surtling core disappeared from my inventory but there's still only one in the chest.
I don't know why, but it doesn't work for me. I used the default backQuote button and other buttons from the unity list too. At the beginning the mod did it 2-3 times without me even wanting it when I opened the inventory. I don't know what I did to get it to work.
But now it doesn't. I tried to stay right in my chest corner, pressed the buttons, switched the buttons, opened inventory and opened chests but nothing.
