    Nice mod ! I really like it. I thought it was a bit too powerful, so I nerfed it in the config file and its perfect.

    This is a cool idea! I was wondering if you'd consider adding a compass functionality like this one (https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/851) to the mod and scaling the distance map markers show up on the compass to your cartography skill?

    FYI. There seems to be some errors in log after 0.216.9 update.
    Also the Spyglass doesn't work, so I disabled the mod for now.

    Is there a way to disable the increased radius completely and just get the spyglass and its zoon effect?

    Love the mod!  Problem with the zoom levels tho - playing on my server (with the mod installed) with friends (who all have same version of the mod installed).  We can zoom 3 levels deep when we first join but then after equipping a different item can only zoom one level deep.  When I'm the only player in the game, I can zoom 3 levels again.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  Thanks!

    Just made the spyglass for the first time.
    Zoom isn't working for me. 
    Worked first time.
    Then on second try i block instead of zoom.

    Tried new keybind and it still doesnt work.

    I reduced the base level back to 100, but even just at level 4 the explore radius is way too large. how do I need to configure it for a smaller radius per level? it's already set to 1. I don't see the point in going even higher than that.

    update: using the cartography table bugged out this mod and all players gained tons of exp each time someone interacted with the cartography table, resulting everyone getting to cartography level 100 within 6-7 interactions of a single person and revealing the whole map.

    I expected this mod to maybe get to 2x or 3x the vanilla radius of exploration on a very high level, but not this.

    With 0.211.11 my up-to-date cartography skill shows up in the skills list as [csSkillname] and the description just says [csSkillDescription]. I still have a skill level of 52 that functions but I can't reference it in a raiseskill command as it is. Any pointers how to troubleshoot?

      I have the same description for this skill.

      EDIT: it appears that when you deactivate the spyglass, the name of the skill bug.

      That was it, thanks. However, I'm still dealing with "skill not found" error when using the raiseskill command. This became an issue with the latest game update (not mod update).

      This is my fault. Someone asked for localization to be added for the skill and skill name, and I added that two mod updates ago. Unfortunately I did this in a way that it doesn't have a proper default English value to fall back on if your already generated localization file doesn't include one.

      Until I can release a fix, try deleting the Advize_CartographySkill.json file in your BepInEx\plugins folder then relaunch the game to allow it to regenerate.

      As for the raise skill command, this might have been something I overlooked earlier but would be an easy fix.

    plans to update to mistlands?

    would it be possible to make a mod that overhauls cartography and exploration. When spawning in the mini-map AND fullscreen map would be disabled. Building or interacting with the cartography table would unlock cartography as a skill. You'd gain experience by exploring and then coming back to the cartography table, the more are you revealed on the table, the more experience gained (A multiplier that rewards long expeditions would be cool). At first you'd only be able to open the full screen map while next to or interacting with the cartography table, but you wouldn't have a character marker. At level 5 you get pins. At level 15 you'd gain access to the fullscreen map anywhere you are. At level 35 you gain the minimap. At level 50 you get the pin showing where you are on the map.

    Any chance you could add a system that influences your view range for weather like "Map Fog Of War Explore Radius" mod has?

      Truthfully I don't have very much spare time these days... only on my PC about 15 minutes a week. I never did finish everything I wanted for this mod so it's in maintenance mode for the foreseeable future.

      When I finally get a lengthy break from life I'll hopefully get around to improving this mod and addressing requests again.
