A new version [2.5.0] has been posted with patch notes. This version now includes WOLF SOUNDS! All wolf sounds were taken from live recordings of actual wolves. This one took a lot of time finding the resources and clipping the audio into usable tracks! I hope everyone enjoys it, but help is appreciated if you notice something that needs improved.
*Custom Audio is now a requirement. Also changed the download location to the plugins folder. Hopefully this will help with Vortex. Let me know if I've done this wrong.
*Two new optional versions have been added!
Vortex: The mod manager button is now available. I am not sure if it works as Vortex is giving me issues and I have been creating wolf sfx rather than fixing it. I CANNOT guarantee that the mod manager will work or that I have the proper file structure setup to work with it, but some have reported that it is working fine for them. Please let me know if it is not and if I need to change something to make it compatible.
THANKS EVERYONE.
So glad that so many people are enjoying this simple mod. It's been fun to work on.
CROWS RUIN THE GAME THEY SO ANNOYING please please tell me u fixed them i hate them so much i want to die id rather them not make nay sounds at all plz tell me you did something to them
I can't seem to get this mod to work at all... Neither this mod or Custom Audio is creating a config file, so I assume it is failing some where. Is there any mods this mod would be blocked?
Okay, I got it to work, and hope this helps someone. First off, I'm not new to installing mods, and I'm also using Vortex. The mod CustomAudio wasn't installing properly and the dll didn't save to the plugins folder. After manually saving it the loader recognized the mod and created the cfg file. I tried to reinstall RAS and it says it saved but it didn't do any saving. So I manually copied over the SFX directory contents to the SFX in \BepInEx\plugins\CustomAudio\SFX
personally would like something more along the elk route for the deer, not necessarily the shrill bugling from bulls but the cow grunts and barks kinda thing, especially for their calls that they make when they're nearby but you don't necessarily see them yet. gonna probably just use the boar replacement for now.
If you do a reduced crow noise, could you also do a reduced deer alert noise as well? It shouldn't be every single deer doing it every time. A lot of the time I'm not even running towards a deer, just past it, and yeah, this startling noise just seems to be too much.
I just started playing again. perhaps I'll make more additions to my mods. Until then, you can copy some of the sound reduction files and move them over to the deer sfx folders you hope to reduce. I talk about this in some of the older posts...
You've returned! ^_^ I also returned to Valheim. Today, actually. I was going through my mod list (which includes both this mod & your Immersive Loading Screens) to ensure everything's updated.
Be it updates to old mods or new mods, I look forward to what else you do for Valheim! Thank you for all your work & effort. It is appreciated. Cheers!
So I'm having an issue adding my own sound files to replace the deer noises. This all started as a joke and I've now spent a ton of time on it and just want to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Your sound files seem to work perfectly fine.
But if I try and add an audio clip (talking, so maybe human voice is more obviously distorted) it just does not seem to play at the correct pitch. So the deer sound like they can talk but only breath helium, or rarely they sound like demonic hell spawn with extremely deep voices.
Could you please give me some insight into how you added your audio files and got them to sound the way you wanted them to?
Been awhile since I've been on here, but if I remember correctly, some of the animal sounds have had pitch changes and adjustments made to them within the game code when the devs created the in-game audio outputs (they would have done this in order to make their dinoduck sfx sound more like whatever animal they were hoping to imitate). My simple remedy to this was to counter the pitch changes with my own. So If a sound plays super high pitched, such as with the deer_alerted sound, I believe I just edited the pitch of my own audio track and made it twice as low. You can use a free audio editing tool such as audacity for this.
I'll probably use it but that deer-kill sound is awful and super immersion breaking.... whats the point of an immersive mod if it has a gag noise that you'll hear a lot.
