Man you're a life saver, that said, i hope one day we'll somehow get a mod where you can freely switch outfits without having to restart the game everytime with ofcourse working physics. I still can't believe Trials have outfit change from what i heard... and not Visions? What are they thinking, it bothers me so much.

    Hello,

Thanks for the mod, I was looking to be able to play with the outfits I like !

However when using this mod, for example with Val's earth outfit, I'm stuck with the earth element relic, although I chose the light one (with the basic class post-game mechanics).

Is there a way around this ?

Are you sure you're using this mod, and not the broken one that was removed yesterday? They look similar, so look carefully, make sure you're using the "Custom DLC Costumes" one. When you run the program, make sure the picture is identical to the image for this mod. If it's not, redownload this mod, where you are right now. Make sure to delete the "pakchunk536-custom_costumes_r_1_P" and "VoMCustomCostumesR.exe" files if you have them.

This mod changes the DLC outfit such as "Sumo Outfit" to the earth costume. It swaps the skeletal mesh for the DLC outfit and that's it. It shouldn't affect what relic you have equipped, just your appearance when the DLC outfit is equipped.

Hello may i ask how this tool works exactly? does it edit some BP file or something in the game that says load x outfit?
also is UnrealUnZen only needed for editing files? i work with modding the models and some other files and had no issues from packing using unreal engine so i assume its only needed for datatables or stat based files.

It modifies the DT_CharacterCustomSkin.uasset, which is a datatable. There's entries for all the custom DLC skins, with each having a "HeroID" (specifies the character), and a "CustomSkinMesh" property with an "AssetPathName" property that links to a skeletal mesh file. For example, Val's Sumo Outfit is "CS101" with a HeroID of "P001" and an CustomSkinMesh AssetPathName of "/Game/X21/Char/Player/P001/SK_P001f01.SK_P001f01". If you change "SK_P001f01.SK_P001f01" to "SK_P001c.SK_P001c" that'll give you the Wind Rune Knight costume instead.

UnrealUnZen is needed when working with original modified game assets, for example hex editing them. You can't import extracted original cooked game assets into UE for editing.

i assume we can't edit them directly in uassetgui or asset editor due to the exported asset giving a error on loading? is that why hex editing is needed?

      is needed?

Pretty much none of the tools used to edit uassets work with the new iostore/zen format. So UassetGUI is not an option. There is a tool (ZenTools) to extract zen uassets into the old uasset/uexp format. But I don't know of any tool that can re-zenify back into the new format.

i work with modding the models and some other files

I don't suppose you attempted any costume swapping? If so, did you encounter the broken clothing physics issue?

I don't have DLC outfits. Can this mod also be made to change default outfit into class outfit instead?

It's possible, it would require replacing skeletal meshes with other skeletal meshes, a lot more work. This mod basically achieves the same thing using the game's built-in skeletal mesh replacement system which is much more convenient. Regardless of what method is used, the clothing physics are broken with no known fix so there's only ugly solutions right now.

    Great mod!

Quick question, I noticed that the cloth physics don't work for Val's Liege costume when using this mod. Is this just a
limitation of applying the costumes to the dlc skeletal meshes? Or is there a way to enable it?

It seems to be a limitation of the custom skin system. However, if you replace Val's Sumo Outfit with the Guardian Garment (the preorder DLC costume), the cloth physics for the scarf still work. If you try Duelist the skirt and the flap on his back moves correctly. I'm guessing certain costumes have special physics that can't be used with the custom skin system.

There is another way to force a costume across all classes. It won't require the DLC. And the physics work correctly.

There was only one preorder costume for Val, and nothing for the others. So DLC made more sense.

Also I just updated the archive, morley's class image file had soothsayer and sovereign backwards. No changes to the actual mod. Game8 (the source for the images) had them backwards.
