What you need to do if you are on steam (since no one else who's supposedly figured it out has bothered to explain the process):
1) Go to the game's page in your steam library 2) Click on the manage button (the "cog" symbol) [Praise the Omnissiah!] 3) Click Properties 4) Select the "General" tab 5) Under "Launch Options" you will see a grey bar, click it and type: -usepreview 6) Close Properties and boot the game
followed the installation steps but the game wont launch, i did everything in the pin comment on steam and the game wont open and i did type -usepreview on the launch options. any help?
You need to extract the preview folder from the zip file into the game's folder. Just placing the zip file there won't work. To extract, open up the zip file and just drag the preview folder from there, like you'd do when you're moving a folder.
After extracting, I dragged the preview file over to the 40k space marine game folder. Used that -usepreview steam command and it doesn't seem to work. Suggestions?
1. Download file. 2. Right click the file and select "Extract To", the select an easily accessible location such as your Desktop. 3. The folder named "preview" should now be on your desktop. 4. Find where the game is installed, the folder is called "Warhammer 40 000 - Space Marine". 5. Move the "preview" folder into this folder.
6a. If using Steam, follow the steps in the pinned comment at the top of this page from ThatAnnoyingGuy.
6b. If using the retail version, right click SpaceMarine.exe and create a shortcut. Then right click, choose Properties, and type " -usepreview" at the end of the box called "Target" so that it looks like this: Warhammer 40000 - Space Marine\SpaceMarine.exe" -usepreview
Thanks for your mod) Most likely he means that this mod is the only one that adds the ability to have blood on the helmet. But it only works for your helmet. Is it possible to make such functionality for other helmet mods? Like this mod.
Guys for anyone that uses retail, create a shortcut of the .exe and then right click, choose Properties, then you have to TYPE ' -usepreview' at the end of the box: Warhammer 40000 - Space Marine\SpaceMarine.exe" -usepreview, I just pasted it in and it did work, so I think you have to MANUALLY TYPE that in
If you ever read this is it possible to disable/remove the gore effect? I know how to convert the Attributes files but have no idea how to edit things inside the XML file.

Edit: Apparently only initially. If you exit and load back in after getting one of the Purity seals, it'll show up on your armour.
