Toggle executable just tells me it can't find bundle_database.data No obvious way to circumvent or fix it, as the bundle isn't present anywhere else nor does it seem to be generated by launching the game. No instructions or anything about the bundle exists that I can find, unless I'm just blind.
What happened to the ability to mod Darktide over the last year?
Darktide Mod Loader (DML) needs to be installed correctly into the Darktide game folder in order to find bundle_database.data. See step 2 of the DMF Mod Installation Guide for reference; Microsoft Store players will have a different game location (see note at the bottom of the guide). Step 3 of this guide also mentions another way of patching that you can try.
Inside the Darktide game folder, there is a folder named bundle, which contains bundle_database.data along with many other files. If it's not preset (and you're absolutely sure), verify game files because something is wrong with your game installation, then try again.
I have the same issue as the original commentor, however the bundle_database.data file exits when i look into the bundle folder, it just fails to read it? Any Idea how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nevermind, i fixed it with a fresh reinstall of Darktide. Perhaps checking files through steam did not catch the issue.
If I had not followed the instructions correctly or had anything else besides a clean Darktide install before attempting to install DML, then that would have been checked before I made the post. Many people claim bugs or broken stuff without doing things correctly. I followed the instructions to a T 3 times over, and have even modded Darktide in the past successfully. The bundle is there, the files are where they need to be, it just doesn't recognize the bundle as the file it's supposed to be.
Am I really supposed to fry bits of my SSD just to get another fresh install just so I can report back again that it's still doing what I posted it was doing to begin with? Maybe there's actually an issue, just a thought.
This isn't happening to me alone, and requiring a clean install for it to find a file that definitely exists are red flags that there is something wrong somewhere.
fvck me...for any casual user who didnt pass their COMPTIA, A+, ect. certifications, this thread is impossible to make any sense of. it seems the most recent update has just broken our current framework and mod loader that we have to have to use any other mods. can anyone confirm or deny this in plain english please? i see about 2 dozen fixes and they all seem completely specific to that one persons situation.
Anyone else getting this error or know how to fix it:
GUID: 6da973f8-6e77-4322-b4a0-87d73dff2c22 Log File: Info Type: ----------------------------------------------- [Script Error]: [string "./mod_loader"]:240: attempt to index field 'hook' (a nil value) ----------------------------------------------- [Crash Link]: crashify://6da973f8-6e77-4322-b4a0-87d73dff2c22
Same here. I'm guessing this is something specific to Linux/Proton, as I know Windows players who aren't experiencing this problem. What's weird is that I haven't changed a thing, and mods were working perfectly fine around 48 hours ago. I sent in a report to the modding Discord last night, but a consensus wasn't ever reached. Here are the parts from my console log that are relevant. Looks to be the exact same crash you're witnessing.
Hey, to anyone who might have been having with invalid file whatsits recently after updating some mods, seems a recent Windows update tightened the noose on Darktide most specifically and just like Bannerlord, you now have to unblock every single aspect of every single element of every part of this mod and all other mods **IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE**, I have no information as to how widespread this problem is, I just know I've been fighting it for the last 4 hours.
Solution: open the darktide directory folder, where everything is, or more specifically, where the update patcher is, hold shift + right click in an empty space within the folder, click open "Powershell window here", and to mass unblock all files within just copy + paste this into Powershell:
dir -Recurse | Unblock-File
That will unblock all files and folders within the Darktide folder. It WILL take a while, Powershell has to switch a 1 to a 0 on something like 162,000 different files, it will look like its doing nothing the entire time and then it will just say the directory name again in the next line. You can then manually check to see if it worked and if you were patient enough by going into any of the modded data and right clicking to see if "Unblock" is still an option. If it is, you might be on a slower system and didn't wait for the second line to pop up in Powershell and ya' gotta try again.
Man, I was about to bug report but, nothing changed within the mod and yet I had a Windows update recently so I was super hesitant to report a bug, glad I was because it was totally Windows' fault. Hope this can help anyone having this issue.
After opening Powershell in the game folder, Powershell directory was pointing to C:\Windows\System32. Had to preceed your command with "Set-Location -Path "D:\Games\Warhammer 40,000 - Darktide" - My install location. Then your command executed ok.

Fix for me was to download https://github.com/manshanko/dtkit-patch/releases Presuming you're on Linux too, .bat is a windows file type and that github gives a proton patch for it
Hey folks! Every time I launch the game, Darktide Mod Loader throws an error saying something's missing or not working (check the screenshots). The message pops up, then disappears, and the game itself runs fine—mods load and everything seems okay... BUT at any moment, the game can suddenly crash with a different error (see the third screenshot). When that happens, the only option is to close the error window.
Anyone know what’s causing this or how to fix it? Would really appreciate any help!
hi, I wouldn't mind reinstalling the game completely but I'll spend almost the whole day on it. (I have an HDD drive and the maximum download speed is 100 Mbps) and if you calculate all this, it will be 3 hours, maybe more.😅 but for now, i'll play in the new mode and there at least mods won't be needed
No, this happens every update. You need to retoggle mods after each patch. see https://dmf-docs.darkti.de/#/faqs?id=the-game-updated-and-mods-stopped-working-are-they-broken for reference
Can't tell if you're being serious, but just in case, No. Mods tend to break after each update. If an update in the game happens and that update affects certain files that the mod uses, then by that logic, the mod also be updated.

They work as usual for the vast majority of us.

Of course the issue was Microsoft making s#*! more difficult for their users with an update, why would I assume anything less.

I had similar problems after the update drops. Try to reinstalled the game and mods as well using vortex - all works well for me now
