Thinking machines, or abominable intelligences, have long been banned in the Imperium. While machine spirits are able to fill many tasks for which such beasts were required, the act of processing, analyzing, and synthesizing large amounts of data is beyond the ability of a mere machine. To fill this role, humanity instead employs sages, individuals of great intellect trained to use their minds in powerful new ways which allow them to store vast amounts of data in compartmentalized segments and to use that data to make predictions and determinations which no lesser intelligence would be capable.

The Sage uses their superior intellect to predict the flow of events around them, staying a step ahead of their adversaries.

The Sage's active ability, Threat Analysis, lets them add their intelligence to their critical hit chance several times per combat.

The sage also has 5 talents available during level-up:
  • Calculated Risk: dodge is based on intelligence rather than agility.
  • Closed mind: the sage is immune to distracted and perplexed.
  • Quick Thinking: The Sage adds their intelligence bonus to their initiative roll.
  • Sound Arguments: The Sage may use their intelligence bonus in place of fellowship bonus.
  • Supercomputing: Any time the Sage begins a turn with an Intelligence bonus of 10 or more, they gain +1 AP.

Installation:

You will need to install MicroPatches version 1.17.4+ for this mod to work.

The easiest way to install it would be to use Modfinder.

If not using ModFinder, you will need to unzip the folder into your Game's Modifications folder. The path will be similar to C:\Users\Me\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Warhammer 40000 Rogue Trader\Modifications

Once the folder is there, you may need to edit your OwlcatModificationManagerSettings.json file. This is one level up from the mod's folder. It needs to look something like:

{"$id":"1","SourceDirectories":[],"EnabledModifications":["jhSage","BigFlagship","jhExpandedArchetypes"],"ActiveModifications":["jhSage","jhExpandedArchetypes"],"DisabledModifications":[]}

You will need to add the two entries for jhSage following the format above. Once this file is edited you can start your game and you should see the mod in the in-game mod tool (not the built in Unity Mod Manager)
