taking art without crediting the artists is kind of just a more straightforward version of the same problem as AI art

I mean. You are right, on one hand. On the other - it's not like people will not go and do it on their own, game literally gives you tools for that. I just make it easier. Also, it's not like I'm getting money or recognition for any of that. I basically spread people's art for free, lol, cause you easily can download a pic, paste it in google search and find the original author, if you really want too. I guess, I just need to add "NOT MY ART" on the page xd

Also #2 - despite some of these "crops" of "mine" having lesser quality I still do think that it is better looking in game then AI "art".

Also #3 - there are tons of mods just like this one, but with 600+ pics, for Pathfinder, Pillars of Eternity and only other CRPG, that gives you the option to make custom portraits, so yeah. Doubt that the modder handpainted them all or paid for them themselves.

Still, I think you are morally right. But man, let us just have fun, no one is hurt or paid here anyway.

You're not taking it, you are compiling it, and making the images fit the portrait sizes for the game. It's not that different than the 40k gallery which was made exactly for the purpose of providing more role play for 40k fans, and you're not claiming it's yours or making any money off it. Using said art for personal use in CRPGs has been going on since BGI and II. There is nothing 'immoral' about it. lmao

You know for this game I mainly use portraits from art I already know and love, but ear god more of this please, and far less of that AI s#*! I beg of ya.
