Works great, until I launch the game. Controls cease to work as soon as the launcher is opened. Playing on GOG, enhanced edition.
I feel very silly having paid for a program that simply doesn't work for the one game I may use it for. Kudos for the controls scheme though, seems legit.
And yes, before you ask, I've tried running it as admin, it doesn't work. I've even tried removing the game's exe windows 7 compatibility mode, and its run as admin checkbox, the game would then simply not launch.
My apologies, but I don't know enough about controller mapping to know if Xpadder can use an Xbox 360 profile to work on an Xbox One controller.
Although I have not used Xpadder with an Xbox One controller, a quick google search had a few articles on the first page of results that seem to say it is compatible. Xpadder's official website posted this forum response about controllers that work with Xpadder. https://xpadder.com/forum4/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2149
In the end, it sounds like as long as Windows can install a driver for your Xbox One controller so it can be used on your PC, then Xpadder should be able to find it and connect to it. After you start up Xpadder, click on the wrench in the upper right corner (near the ? icon), then click controllers. It will show a list of all controllers Xpadder can see that are connected to the PC. From there, just load the profile into Xpadder and see if it works.
these are the best layed out controls I could fin thany you're a life saver. I know this game is really meant to be played as KB/M but I'd rather play with most awkward gamepad controls than with keyboard lol. bu your controls are pretty much the best it can get for this game.
Thank you! Glad you like it. Like you, I wasn't a big fan of the keyboard/mouse controls for this game. Got through chapter 1 using keyboard/mouse on hard mode (and that damnable beast fight) and decided enough was enough... haha.
I know that a lot of the other gamepad profiles are more thorough and include every Witcher keyboard button, but my goal was to keep it simple during the action, exploration, and conversation (which is 95% of the gameplay). The rest (scrolling through the lore, sorting though inventory and stash, etc) can be done easier with a mouse anyway. Thanks again!
I also have a profile that binds the Evade to the turbo command. This essentially allows you to continuously evade while holding the A button until you run out of room to move any further. If anyone is interested, let me know and I will upload it.
