also, is this mod compatible with realistic weather 4? and if so what load order?
I've tested a couple of other lighting mods including Grim Lighting Revived since STLM drove me to the edge with save loading crashing constantly and boy, I can definitely tell you the overall experience of the lighting in the game has improved drastically after switching to this mod. I use it with PATHOS reshade and it gives me the result I was looking for - good weather actually looks nice and bright now while storms, rains and fogs give that dark, grim feeling.
its clearly not for your taste. not saying that its bad does not make you criticise it properly. the efforts on justifying you is pointless.
what are you telling is pretty much disrespecting to the preferences, art choices of the author. your approach is not right. there is really long term and hard work behind this project. achieving this result was not easy.
the mod provides quality, unique experience. of course there will be similiar color toned places just because the design choices, making the light and weather transitions easier & consistent. consistency , balance and visual fidelity is the key for the mod. and it brings them all.
however, claiming on it "it's all monotonous" is also pointless. the real life itself consist of all the experiences, repetitive routines . are you seriously complain about the irl stuff too? if yes, you either not enjoying the life and gaming.
its not a consructive criticism. these arguments make you look like a hater.
it replicates the pre release art design of the game in the mostly, which was gritty and dark theme. there are plenty of green foliage places like in white orchard, kaer morhen and skellige. so your statement is wrong.
do you even have any idea, info about lore of velen for instance? its described as no man's land, consist of marshlands, dry grasses, dark and unforgiven swamp places. surrounded by evil and sadness. for this perspective, the Promo lm does it just right. same perspective about the pre release art style.
if its not for you, then you have other options to choose from.
The "monotonous" tone fits with the atmosphere of war and desolation in a middle age setting, the Witcher world is not something beautifull, is something depressive, a harsh reality with war, monsters, greed, prejudice, and many other things.
Everything colorfull not fits with that setting, places like Velen and Novigrad obviously are depressing, and should be, you see that in earlier trailers of the game that they took the same approach of the mod author, they changed it because performance at that time.
But as BoneDoctor21 said very well, if is not your taste, use other mods or play vanilla, your criticism don't look like a wise criticism, looks like trolling or mindless nitpick, you not feel the nuance, the idea of the mod itself, the ATMOSPHERE it proposes.
