Initial release v1.0 - This is a standalone mod for replacing the Witchhunter armor which Geralt gets from Joana. I guess some lore-fans might like it, as the Witchhunter isn't a fitting item. The Thyssen armor is a capable relic medium armor, good stats, and also a special: 100 % poison resistance, thus eventually helpful for certain tasks, besides can by chance reflect projectiles with auto-Quen protection. All in all it fits to the quest story, unlike the Witchhunter armor. In case the question pops up, if it changes the usual Witchhunter armor(s) in-game: No. The quest reward is a special item code, exclusive for the master armorer quest.
---
Update v1.0.1 - Adds reward optional armors: Oathbreaker and Shiadhal, as well relic armors. For the ones who prefer something else.
---
Updated to v2.0 - It's like v1.0 plus includes the replaced reward from Hattori, now a relic silver sword calling Negotiator. After all Geralt worked for Hattori like a negotiator in the according quest. And i didn't see how the steelsword Blade of the Bits made any sense in the quest as reward.
---
Always apply only one of these in whole four possible standalone mods. See desc page instructions (installation and file info).
To all users, who don't like the reward for the quests, but have other ideas what the reward should be:
1) Use WCC Lite to extract the files, it's a small and simple tool 2) Select the "unbundle" tab on the left, set [location]\modRewardThyssenArmor_NegotiatorSword\content as the input folder, pick any name for the output folder, like [location]\modRewardThyssenArmor_NegotiatorSword_unpacked\content. Then click "Run Command" 3) Open [location]\modRewardThyssenArmor_NegotiatorSword_unpacked\content\gameplay\rewards\rewards.xml (it's the only file in the archive). Look for sq108_special_armor and replace "Thyssen armor" with some other armor. The most lore friendly armor IMO is the Undvik Armor, the ID for this armor is "DLC14 Skellige Armor" (requires Skellige Armor Set DLC). Optionally:To make if even more immersive, I recommend DLC Armor Quests - during Yoana's and Hjalmar's quests you will stumble upon diagrams for the armor and other pieces of the Undvik gear. As soon as you complete the quest and receive the chest piece from Yoana, you can pay her for crafting gloves, boots and trousers 4) Pack the files. Select the "pack" tab, this time set [location]\modRewardThyssenArmor_NegotiatorSword_unpacked\content as the input folder and pick any name for the output folder, like [location]\modRewardUndvik\content, then click "Run command" 5) Now copy the output folder path, select "metadatastore" tab and paste the path, then once again "Run command" 6) Now you can simply copy the modRewardUndvik folder (or whatever you name it) to the Mods folder or zip it and install with a mod manager
Just finished Hattori's quest, but the negociator is only level 10 for some reason. It's level 24 on your screenshots and i was level 15 when obtaining it. Any clue what could be the issue ?
This mod is not maintained anymore, so no idea. Edit: Well, at that time i used item-level changing mod stuff. However, that item level has nothing to do with the reward item mod.
You better change to LFT for the way better experience.
I went with the Oathbreaker option, naturally. Problem is I still get The blade from the Bits sword-I do get Oathbreaker though. Dam shame. Thanks for trying. If ever fixed, please post her and I will try again
Hi Do you know how to add multiple Runewords or Glyphwords to an item or add them as a set bonus maybe ? Or maybe you know someone who can help me please ? Thank you for your time.
Do you think you could have the rewarded armor be the Undvik Armor? It would make sense seeing as you collect the tools from Undvik and Joana's originally from Undvik. Plus it's a completely unique armor. Only thing is it might be more difficult to implement seeing as you would presumably have to remove the armor from the blacksmith at Kaer Trolde.
Would be possible, but it is heavy armor, and thus not a witcher-like one that Geralt expects. Also removal from Kaer Trolde wouldn't be necessary by all means, as one could create a copy set, fe. with slightly changed properties, but keeping the in-game name.
Honestly, this mod here stays as is. However, i recommend to check out my LFT mod, where a similar approach is realised. Not the Undvik armor, but a close story related one. But you know what, you motivate and inspire me to look into it once more, as i'm currently in a process for a LFT update.
Edit: The Undvik armor set is now Yoana's reward in LFT. You are mentioned in the changelog for your suggestion.
