I am having a problem getting them to work. HD chainmail mod works but I can't get it to be the same dark texture as your mod. any one got any solutions? it worked before using the killing monster mod by crashman
the shoulders of the KM armor work but for some reason, it doesn't change the belly chain mail for whatever reason even when using the HD viper chain mail mod. the belly chainmail does look better than vanilla so I am guessing KM mod has changed it? changing the priorities also doesn't help the cause when I do it just reverts to the vanilla armor model (no big shoulder pads) but with the dark chainmail working for all parts of the armor. I'll keep fiddling with priorities to see if it works.
darn, well thanks for replying now I won't have to go mad trying to figure out what's wrong. great mod btw. I would have kept using it, but large shoulder pads help me compensate.
Hi, I would like to add that, in fact, it's possible get this to work fully with Killing Monster Armor:
- Download the Main File of Killing Monsters Armor and the Optional File. - Then, copy the content of the optional file, EXCEPT THE TEXTURE FILE, and paste them in the main mod folder. - With the files replaced, add "modkmarmour", to "Mods" folder.
You get every Killing Monster's color and textures working fine, and, of course, the black chain mail.
I suggest installing HD Chainmail as well.
Personally, I didn't have the need of using Script Merger with all this. All manually installed should be fine.
Thanks for this Guide @GauntM75, but the reason why KM and Dark Chainmail are incompatible is because the Vanilla and KM belly chainmail doesn't use the same texture as the shoulder chainmail.
HD Chainmail replaces the armor model so the belly part uses the same texture, that way chainmail retextures work for the whole armor.
The KM armor is just like the vanilla armor and uses a different texture for the belly chainmail, KM is not compatible with HD Chainmail because both replace the same model. Dark Chainmail does work with KM, but only on the shoulders.
If you want KM Armor to work with Dark Chainmail + HD Chainmail, you have to sacrifice the new shoulder pads using the Optional KM Armor file (which is a version inspired by A Night To Remember, but different from the main armor of the mod).
That difference is the shoulder pads. It is basically the same armor (KM armor) but with the original shoulder pads of the Kaer Morhen armor (default armor).
So, that's the thing! That's it's how I get it to work with.
I submit some screenshots by me of the final result, but, before to be uploaded, they have to be approved by you so what I meant that can be done with this mods together can be seen on the mod page.
Ok so I wanted to update this post on the Dark Chain Mail and Killing Monster armor thing, because, finally, I found a way to get these mods working together properly.
Some time ago I said that it could be done, but the truth is that it was only with the optional file, not the main one (which is the one that gives those incredible shoulder pads).
So, yes, in fact: there is a way to enjoy Killing Monsters armor and Dark Chainmail together.
It's already been a long time, but I'm going to say something because I saw a strange argument passing by. What's the use of insisting that it's not possible in theory to someone who has confirmed that it actually works? To conclude, Killing Monster Trailer Armor and Darker Chain work perfectly together. As mentioned above, there is no need to complicate the file configuration. Just install it together and set the priority to darker chain in the script merge program. In the absence of HD chainmail, the KMT armor seems to be different in the belly and shoulder areas, just like your theory. However, if HD chain mail is installed, the shoulder and belly are changed equally.
Thank you so much for this. The Chainmail was always so bright and shimmery for me, even at 0 MipDias. This looks so much better, for my armor and eyes :). And ofc thanks for all your other mods as well.

I'm using the "Viper E3 Redone UHD" file.
darker chainmail
hd chainmail
armor retexture
this worked perfect for me
Sadly I have the problem where only the mail on the arms get chanced.
Is there a way to make this mod work with the full potencial that it has?
I use these mods:
Kaer Morhen Armor Visual Upgrades
HD Chainmail for Viper Armors
Killing Monsters Arm Pads
because it looks mega cool
Edit: the two are not compatible sadly
- Download the Main File of Killing Monsters Armor and the Optional File.
- Then, copy the content of the optional file, EXCEPT THE TEXTURE FILE, and
paste them in the main mod folder.
- With the files replaced, add "modkmarmour",
to "Mods" folder.

Hope this would be helpful to someone.
Also, thanks for the amazing mod.
Endorsed!

So, quick guide:
1º) - Install Killing Monsters Armor, HD Chainmail and Dark Chainmail.
2º) - Download a fix for Killing Monsters Armor from here and another Kaer Morhen texture
(for example: The Legendary Viper II - Ultimate Collection).
3º) - Put the "texture.cache" from this Kaer Morhen armor retexture inside the "content" folder of the fix and replace.
And thats it!

edit: never mind, it worked. Thank you so much!
