In Next-Gen, all harbor icons seem to be removed unfortunately. Instead, there is a new generic "Boat" icon in their place. I hope a modder can make a mod that restores harbor icons so that we can read their lore descriptions.
OK good news, after some searching around, I found that there ARE harbor icons in the game, just they are hidden when Geralt is not on a boat. They show up only when sitting in a boat. And as soon as he gets up from the boat's seat, the harbor icons are hidden again from the map.
Maybe a mod that allows us to see harbor icons regardless of Geralt is sitting in a boat, will be a nice touch.
Nice to accuse the mod where the problem is about All quest Objective on Map. I suggest to install the standard version and launch Script Merger to merge all scripts/
if anyone error with harbors don't show on map. You can use my edit script have both harbors and signposts displayed on the map at the same time. But it's will show harbors icon and name of some harbors already have in game (seen images tab of this mod), other harbors only show "harbor" name cause it's don't already name in game https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wlZ7ixpV0KzOSg8f5B-PCq89SkH3kKI1/view?usp=sharing (remember remerge)
I cannot get this mod to work. I have the GOG GOTY version of Witcher 3. My harbors still just show a boat with no name, like the vanilla game. I have so few other mods that this mod did not have any scripts that required merging with the other mods. Here is a listing of my mods (wish we could insert a screen shot) in order of priority. Any advice? 1. Unification patch for 1.32 GOG GOTY version 2. Harbor Names restored 3. BIA Ultimate Bug Fix 4. Custom Location Fix 5. Extended Key Bindings 6.Fix Stuck Quest Items 7. Grammar of the Path 8. no storybook 9. Slots slots Slots 10. Witcher Menu Mod
Are you absolutely sure you placed it in the correct folder and that it doesn't conflict with any other mod? Those can be the only 2 reasons why it wouldn't work. If you're sure, please post the screenshot of your mod folder somewhere.
Thank you for responding so quickly. Since you know a lot more about this than I do, let me ask you a question. I use Vortex to install my mods. Doesn't Vortex put them in the correct "Mods" folder? They are all in a Mods folder under the main game folder. As I mentioned, I have the GOG version of Witcher. GOG installs the game in a directory that it picked. It is actually a sub-directory under the main Witcher 3 directory. As far as I can tell, my other mods are working. I listed the mods that I have enabled. Do you know if any of them conflict? As far as attaching a picture, you will have to tell me how to do that. I click the little picture Icon and it brings up an Http address, like it wants me to insert a web address. I don't know how to attach a scanned picture.
Just upload the image here and send me the link: https://imgur.com/upload None of these mods look like they should conflict with mapmenu.ws file. Also I don't trust any mod installers (Vortex or otherwise). That very well be your culprit.
OK. I uploaded some pictures. I hope this helps you. Here is the link: https://imgur.com/a/NGQ0WN6. One pic shows the harbor names are blank. Another pic shows the script merger doesn't do anything with this MOD. The last pic show my mods (don't really know how that will help, though).
The folder is definitely correct. It's possible Vortex manager somehow doesn't allow the mod to be active. You can also try removing Custom Localization Fix, that mod is deprecated, see if that changes anything. Also, that input.xml and readme definitely shouldn't be loose in the mod folder, it probably won't help you with harbor names problem, but still.
Thanks for looking at the pictures. I don't know what you mean by Vortex not allowing the mod to be active. In Vortex the mod says its "Enabled". I tried to see if any other mod was interfering so I disabled ALL the mods except this one. Still didn't work. I even went rogue and changed the original script to include the few lines that are changed in the mod. Still didn't work. Are you sure in the GOTY version of the game the harbors are designated as "Harbor" in the program files that the mod is looking for? Maybe they are called something else, like piers or docks or just boats. There is a little boat symbol where the harbor is. As for the input.xml, that is an old file - last modified date in 2015 - so I know that wouldn't have an effect. Thanks for your help anyway.
