Yes, it will remove the tags from bugged quest items even if you have already done the quest, and it is safe to install at any point in the game. Also, keep note that this mod is for the Classic version of the game, if you play on next-gen you need to use this version.
Never cared about quest items, for more than three years, but then I realized they weight and it bothers me because I don't like to use saddlebags. Even Elder Scrolls doesn't let some quest items weight.
Great mod, thanks for your work! One thing, could you please not remove Keira's Lamp? I think it belongs in the same category as The Eye of Nehaleni, as it is used for more quests than just "A Towerful of Mice". In fact, there are 5 quests I found (not including those with Keira) that require the Lamp:
Last Rites
Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear
Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 2
The Bastion
The Price of Honor
There is maybe more, but these 5 are on the Witcher 3 fandom wiki. The solution might be to make the item lose the tag only after all of these quests are finished, or simply not including the lamp in this mod at all (maybe safer solution, as there is a possibility that the list is not exhaustive). Again, thanks for the mod!
Open the file that's in the local folder with a text editor Find this -> case 'q106_magic_oillamp': Change to this -> //case 'q106_magic_oillamp': That will create an exclusion of the item, but it won't restore the Quest tag if it's already removed, then you have to load a save file before finishing Magic Lamp quest.
Hi, thank you for quick reply! I already did this, thanks to your instructions that you provided in another post here that mentions the lamp. My point was if it would not be better to make a new version (with just the line deleted perhaps), so it would have this behavior by default, because of the quests that require it I mentioned in my post (some of them unable to complete without it). The mod is otherwise perfect and in my opinion everyone should use it, since it only fixes what game devs forgot and makes the game better without any changes to the gameplay. Thanks again for your work!
How do you find the item names to include/exclude? I still have several quest items stuck in my inventory, such as the Foglet Trophy, and I'd really like to get rid of it. Is there a database somewhere that has all the item names?
EDIT: it seems mh108_fogling_trophy is already included in the mod, but the item remains stuck in my inventory. My guess is that it's because I obtained the trophy without ever starting the quest. Is it just stuck forever then?
Are you 100% sure you have completed the related monster hunt quest? If you chose to give the guy time to get the money, you have to wait 7 days before it will be completed, only then the trophy's quest tag will be removed.
Oh, is that the quest it's part of? Then yes, I actually did just turn that one in recently after waiting a week.Update: I figured out the issue. It was a mod conflict with "Jack of All Trophies". Strangely, all the other trophies I had collected were not effected, but the foglet/fogling trophy was. But I uninstalled that mod and was finally able to get rid of the fogling trophy.

Also, is installing this mod in the middle of a playthrough safe?
Thank you for your nice mods :)
