The mod can PARTIALLY work with True Fires; you'll find a compatibility patch in one of the next gen True Fires packages (the link is in the True Fires Posts section). However, this only fixes Geralt's torch, which will appear as intended in New Torch (the problem of the handle of the torch looking as if on fire is also solved). Other torches, such as those used by guards, will be vanilla.
I remember doing that fix for the handle myself, don't know if it's still the one being used because I don't really follow anymore all the patches etc. If you're happy with that you got working, then by all means keep using it the way you are right now, it's your game after all!
Upscaling the texture won't make a difference, the particle is too small to notice and I'd be just wasting resources. I feel the current res (1024x2048) is more than enough for a torch. :)
ofc it will be notice, ive tried 2-4k res torch on skyrim modding, the diffrence is alot, and the 2/4k res can be optional download so other that have limited vram can use the basic one. its just seeing the fire is kinda blocky and wierd when comparing with the background/character when using rt-ultra.
I remember testing it and it basically looked the same, hence my reply. Anyway I can't really redo the torch in higher res because I don't have the rendering file anymore and just upscaling the texture by other means alone won't really do anything but bring out the blockiness you talking about even more.
You're welcome! If I ever rework the flame or redo it from scratch, I'll keep it in mind to go higher res, even though it will be only double res, since you can't go higher than 4096 due to wcc limitations. :)
Awesome. Never would have thought colour clipping could drive me nuts. I guess given enough time with smartphone photography getting better at HDR, anything that's clipped and bloomed looks last-gen... Extends to gaming graphics as well.
Ironically I also get the same warning with windows defender by downloading the file from the mod page lol. Probably a false positive for some reason since even virustotal says nothing wrong with it.
I've just uploaded a new version and it seems to not be giving any errors when downloading from the mod page. Weird AF since it's literally the same files repacked with WK.
Yeah well I imagined only some would have had that error otherwise I'd gotten a comment like this much sooner. Anyway I updated just for peace of mind for myself. :)

I never liked torches in Next Gen. The fire moves waaaay to quick, it looks completely unnatural.
All mods in Nexus does not have any virus. It's totally safe.
