The intense bright light generated when teleporting causes my RTX 4070Ti to scream in pain; GPU usage and cooling fans go to 100%. Is there a way to disable that effect for teleporting and keep the remaining effects for damage?
Yes, very easy. I'll make a no white fade-out version. That effect is in the md/rem_teleporteffect.xml. You can delete that file for now, will lose the teleportation sound but all the rest will be working, included the ejection effect.
For reasons only God knows, the previous version worked only on a Rebirth ship I added in REM. I finally got it working on all, but am not sure that all the effects I added are played, there are several thou that I saw working: alarm sounding, hull breaking sounds, sparkling lights. I made two different effects, one for teleportation and one for player ejected, so the sparkles appear only when the player is ejected.
Effects are generic and applied to player's room, be it cockpit or other room. It is not that EGO discarded them, just did not implement their appearance in the cockpit as did in Rebirth.
I still don't know if it is applied to all cockpits, seems only in capital ships but have to test.
Done a version without, see in the files ;-) Edit: Out of curiosity, on which ships did you see it in action? Because previous version seemed to work only on some ship.

Are the effects tied to individual consoles or are modeled for each bridge and Ego just disabled them?

Do you guys see it in action in small ships too?
