The mod sounds really nice. Can I also load the mod into a running game or does it require a restart? Having to install SVE to do this is just a bit too intrusive, but I'll take a look.
Other than that, I still have "Social Standings and Citizenship" (https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/804) by kuertee running. Could this conflict with your mod?
It can be added mid-playthrough without issue, just some features wont be available (such as buying certain things from SCA/HAT and some added stations are missing). SVE is required for some of the ships used in jobs, strictly speaking you don't have to install it, the game should work fine but you logs may be filled with errors and there will likely be less of the newly added jobs being active.
I do not use said mod myself so I can not guarantee anything, though I think it should be fine as this one doesn't edit any behaviours and just switches some faction equipment as well as adds new jobs and stations. If you are afraid of things breaking in your save however I would recommend to make a backup first.
Thanks for the quick reply :) Especially the new shipyards/stations and more life itself would be of interest to me. But that would be the 3rd new game in a month - haha - unfortunately I can't stand the story missions again after such a short time :D But a little more traffic in the factions would be nice. I just hope that SVE doesn't break the game balance for me - I'm always quite skeptical about new ships (especially when there are so many of them). A version of MFE (to keep it short) without SVE maybe worth an idea?
You can always use the custom gamestarts and skip the story missions, at least that is what I usually do. A version without SVE is not planned. If you want something like that you'll have to create a patch yourself I'm afraid.
I absolutely refuse to use anything from the Steam website since my account there was hacked and Steam's support desk basically said tough luck, sucks to be you.
The VRO version of SVE is made and maintained by EagleDelta and not by me, so i cant just go ahead and upload it. I already asked him about it but didnt get a response yet. Will ask him again. I'd think he will either upload it himself as standalone item on the nexus or may give me permission to load it up to my page of SVE. Regardless, i will let you know once i know more.
Edit: If you go to his workshop page you can actually find a link to his GitHub were you can also pull the VRO version of the mod from.

Does it work with Reemergence?
I dont use Reemergence so no idea. As long as it does not edit the minor factions that this mod touches it should work, but no promises.

I made some changes to character_macros to add male version of the Yaki start.
Perhaps it will be interesting to someone.
Maybe you could add it as a forth start?
