Thanks for the mod! Only used the UltraFpsV2.ini because I wanted to try if it was enough with just that one first.
Anyways, for the others who have the issue about cover not appearing, I'm not sure if its going to be the same issues as with mine, but this was the one setup I was trying.
( UltraFpsv2.ini only: )
show fog=0 show lensflares=0 show speedtrees=0 show motionblur=0 show depthoffield=0 show imagereflections=0 show subsurfacescattering=0 show ssao=0 show tiledao=0 show temporalaa=0 show ssr=0 show imagegrain=0 fullmotionblur=0 show occlusion=0
[TOGGLEOCCLUSION=0]
I tried turning each one of these on and off, and my cover indicators came back when I set TOGGLEOCCLUSION=1 back on in the console. I tried putting exec UltraFpsV2.ini with the console in-game without TOGGLEOCCLUSION and it worked just fine for me.
Great mod, by the way, it runs on my potato pc with mods greatly. Is there a way for the textures of the armor of my characters to be less pixelated by any chance?
Try changing some values in the engine file, particularly the texture sections, those deal with pixelations. I am not sure if this deals also with the character armour, as I did not test anything other than size=1 on all of the categories.
It does not seem to work. I'm using mods that give my soldiers Clone Trooper armor, which are pure cosmetic items. Although all cosmetic items are pixelated as far as I see
Try to delete the XComEngine.ini file in your documents folder, and then change the DefaultEngine.ini (make sure you modify the correct one based on what version of the game you are playing, WOTC and non-WOTC) file with the changed TextureGroup settings. Then, run it again, execute SystemSettingsv2.ini, and see if that works. Also, change the MinMagFilter on certain TEXTUREGROUPs to aniso to reduce pixelation.
I haven't played XCOM2 in a while, so I forgot the specificities of each command, sorry.
Delete your config file within \Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config file, then reset the changes you have made to the DefaultEngine.ini file found within the \XCOM 2\XComGame\Config folder. This is different for WoTC, for that expansion, use the respective WoTC folders instead
When I use this mod I can't tell whether or not my troops will be in a position of cover when they move since both the full cover and half cover indicators disappear when I use this mod. Which setting do I have to edit in order to see the full cover and half cover indicators again?
I'm using LWOTC if that changes anything.
Also I was wondering if I could just re-enable fog of war by just deleting the fog=0 line in the UltrafpsV2.ini or if I needed to alter the SystemSettings code in some way.
I have tried testing how to reutilise cover and I came up with practically nothing; it's really weird. What you can try to do is after executing the ini, type in "viewmode normal" and then "viewmode unlit" again; though this works some of hte times.
To renable fog of war, delete postprocess and fog lines in the UltraFpsV2.ini file.
Hi, I'm really late but I hope you can see my comment!
So, I have two questions! first one, im really new to modding so how do I install the mod? (I don't have any mod installed) Do I just copy paste the documents in the binaries folder (in win64, right?) or do I have to do something else first?
Second, I have a Macbook pro 13" (late 2013) with an intel iris 1536 and 8 gb ram, and while this mod makes the game run really good, in my case just setting the resolution to 480 makes the game playable (25ish fps), but I still want to install part of the mod to do some fine tuning, like disable the following things that the mod does:
show dynamicshadows 0 disables specific shadows show fog 0 disables fog show lensflares 0 disables lens flares show motionblur 0 disables motion blur show imagereflections 0 disables image reflections show imagereflections 0 disables image reflections show lightshafts 0 disables light shafts that usually comes from windows, exterior lighting to interior show ssr 0 disables some reflections show fullmotionblur 0 disables motion blur
And maybe this ones if they dont have a big impact in the visuals of the game show speedtrees 0 improves speed overall show subsurfacescattering 0 improves performance overall show Sprites 0 improves overall performance show Splines 0 improves overall performance show occlusion 0 improves overall performance
But if I just want to disable those things, do I have to install all? do I only install the UltraFPSV2.ini file with only those changes? Or cna I find those option in one of the files of the game?
Technically, the only documents you need to copy are Scaledecr.ini Scaleincr.ini SystemSettingsV2.ini UltrafpsV2.ini
in either "\XCOM 2\Binaries" or "\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\Binaries" depending on what version of the game you plan to run.
Technically, this is not a mod, but to make it easier, I just call it a mod. Actual XCOM 2 mods, you have to install in different folders and such, you need to look up a guide for that for more indepth information.
If you want to disable the things the mod does, simply remove it from the code. It is recommended you have it all installed, but you can still tweak out certain settings.
What the mod does is get specific commands in a text file, and when you execute it, it executes all commands in the file. So, if you want to disable that, simply go inside UltraFPSV2.ini and remove those lines. You can remove things like "show lensflares 0, show motion blur 0" and other things out of UltraFPSV2.ini., so that when you go execute them everytime you launch the game, these options will not be in effect.
You should also go in SystemSettingsV2 and remove some lines too, because that file also handles things like motion blur and image reflection and shadows.
I have not played Xcom 2 in a bit, so I am a bit unaware of the settings, still, you should look around.
From the description perspective it looks like you tried a lot of the settings sadly it made game looks like rotten potatos or dry plants in gamer room xD there must be a way to unlock performance without getting back to Xcom 1994 in graphics still appreciate your mod and my old pc would be grateful for it, current pc however would looks something else alos motion blur 0 is great idea regardless, f*#@ this technology, nothing cinematic in zooming in for shot in 10 fpses
I added this and the game still dips to 1 fps during transitions, most maps dont let me get 60fps. i just want consistent fps. i have an rtx 3080 and and intel 10900k and this game barely runs it and it looks bad. when i tried the mod above it made evrything look terrible, but i was willing to try it a few hrs and i even lowered my resolution to 1080p and lower and still about the same as before. i know theres not much u can do but i hoped it would work.
XCOM 2 is an unoptimised game, I can't really help you with that other than just reduce the load of the mods you play with, and set the game in high priority mode using taskmanager.

So far it works. Thanks for helping me on this.
