Sorry for being silent for quite some time. For everyone worried, I'm alright (alive and well :D), just needed to take a break for personal reasons. I see a lot of great new mods coming out while I was away, including some incredible new UI stuff, plenty of bugs in my own mods were discovered. And I want to delve into it in the nearest future. I'll try my best to update my mods and review all bug reports and feature suggestions.
Thank you all for still interesting and my special thanks to all modders releasing patches for Dear Diary and new UI mods. I appreciate it very much.
Q: The mod is not working, some menus are still not covered after installation. A: Place Dear Diary at the very bottom of your mods load order in Mod Organizer 2, or let Dear Diary overwrite everything in Vortex.
Q: Health, Stamina and Magicka values stay the same no matter what in stats menu. A: You've chosen the Extended UI (or Extended UI + Experience) option for the stats menu, while not having the Extended UI mod installed.
Q: The skill name doesn't change as you navigate left/right between the trees in the stats menu. A: You've chosen the Extended UI (or Extended UI + Experience) option for the stats menu, while not having the Extended UI mod installed.
Q: White texts in inventory menus. A: Some of your mods has the file "interface\skyui\config.txt" in it. Let Dear Diary overwrite everything or read the description page, last part of the compatibility section.
Q: There is no Creation Club in the main menu. A: Reinstall choosing the option with CC support in FOMOD.
Q: I have "Take Notes - Dragonborn Journal" mod, and when the journal is open, only the right-hand page is visible, the left-hand page is off the side of the screen. A: Use SHIFT + ARROW KEYS to move journal manually.
Q: There are no pictures in the MCM. A: Update to the latest Dear Diary version, open the config file "interface\deardiary\config.txt" and set bMCMImages = true.
Q: Have a problem, using Vortex mod manager... A: Please consider switching to Mod Organizer 2, thank me later. If not, just let Dear Diary load AFTER any other mod. If some of your mod has the file "interface\skyui\config.txt" in it, the please read the description page, compatibility section.
Q: Does the paper map mods supported? A: Yes.
Q: Does the Creation Club Survival Mode supported? A: Yes (since 2.2.5).
Me too, but this is first time setup and i'm using AE with Vortex... Issue is likely caused by myself.
Okay, figured it might be faster to check comments on the similar mod which changed the menu linked in the description, and first post by "Zeal0t7" covers this for AE; [Skyrim Install Folder]/Data/meshes/interface/logo/logo.nif rename to logo01ae.nif
It sorta reverses our situation, instead of having the map image briefly before going to the old menu, it now shows the old image for a moment before jumping to the map background from this mod. Temporary fix for now I guess =]
Hello there, fantastic mod by so far. I was wondering if the new version of experience needs to be patched since when using it I cannot see the experience of each skill and only the yellow line when the cap is reached (This happens even if the cap for each skill is not reached yet )
Yes, I need to roll back the changes that were made in 3.0.6 for statsmenu.swf. Fow now you can just download the 3.0.5 version and take the statsmenu.swf file you need from there :)
I have a similar question because of an issue I'm having. All the other menus seem to be fine but the inventory menu is really skinny for some reason. Please help!
I absolutely love this mod. My only problem is that I chose the option with CC support on the main mod, and I still can't see the creations option on the main menu. Already tried reinstalling. Any idea how to solve it?
So, everything was going great as I have been strategically and intricately reinstalling the game and all mods I usually use with their respective updates.
FInally getting to the last mods - NPC related and visuals; and as I was loading mods, loading the game to make sure it would work without crashing.
However, during this all, I had been using "Complete Widescreen fix for Vanilla and SkyUI" with "Dear Diary" - and somewhere along the line while I had DD configured (with minimal squishing, which I was going to address later), I lost the 21x9 resolution. SO, I figured I would just re-install the WS Fix. In checking, I found that 2 days ago (4/9/24) , the WS Fix was just updated. I was excited because I figured I would update my install of the WS Fix and it would fix my resolution while keeping DD settings. Well, I was wrong. I installed the updated WS Fix, but lost ALL of the DD interface, as it defaulted back to vanilla menus, while the only thing that stayed configured was the cursor, the dark red quill. It DID fix my resolution issue, but lost DD.
Now, it's NOT a game-changer or game-breaker, just annoying.
Will DD be updated to reflect the changes that the WS Fix broke?
I am using this mod with my new 4k monitor and when I open my inventory, the pop window from your mod is to narrow ( it does not scale properly according to the resolution ) and the letters as well ... is there any way that I can fix this via your mod.ini or something else ?
Can't figure out how to get the start menu to use the wallpaper from Immersive Old Map Main Menu Replacer on this mod, it says it's already included to Dear Diary, but when I click the option to use it in the config, it doesn't work. And when I try to install it separately, my mod manager says it conflicts with Dear Diary. Does anyone know how to get it to work? (I'm using SE)
I'm working through a clean install of the game and mods, and I noticed an old fav of mine, QuickLoot RE is no longer being updated; however, a similar mod QuickLoot EE has been.
During the Dear Diary options setup, there is a screen for "replacing QuickLoot RE" menu. I clicked "no" because I have "EE" installed.
Is that "RE" option in DD setup ONLY for RE, or will it translate to EE as well?
RE is here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21085 EE is here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/69980

Hey I Just stumbled upon this mod while installing legacy of the dragonborn and love it and it seems to have all the bases covered except for the custom favorites menu mod. Anyone know of any that are skinned like dear diary?
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition (GOG) 1.6.1179.0.8 (SKSE64 2.2.6 rel 72). Conflict between mods “Extended Hotkey System” 2.1.0 and “Dear Diary - Paper SkyUI Menus Replacer SE” 3.0.6. The Favorites menu can be opened with the Favorites button, but when you try to close it with this button, it closes and quickly opens. You can close it only with a button with the “Escape” function. But the author of “Dear Diary” stated that the mods are fully compatible. Besides “Extended Hotkey System”, only “Dear Diary” has a file “favoritesmenu.swf”, “Dear Diary” is located after “Extended Hotkey System”. But the "Extended Hotkey System" mod works fine without "Dear Diary". No other problems were found in the “Extended Hotkey System” in conjunction with “Dear Diary”, both work.

Edit: Fixed by disabling moreHUD + moreHud Inventory Edition, re-enabling them, and adding the squish fix last in load order.
