I followed the instructions and did not receive a dialoguie box for replacing the un-modded .exe file. Tried deleting the old and replacing it with the modded version, but then the game won't launch from Steam, saying that it's missing a .exe file. I'm just trying to work towards 100% and have fun with the game, it's hard to do so when it doesn't want to provide full fuinctionality. Any ideas or guidance on how to get this mod to work for me would be great.
My problem: Connection symbol next to minimap is off, im not able to get connected to kenways fleet, no uplay rewards avalable, although collected, all buttons in main menu which link to anything online are no available, no community events. Funnily enough i get access to the golden swords and the Drake outfit although i did not preorder; Installed your mod exactly as described nothing changes. Installed the game from an older dvd; i thin it was then updated, played it and then i encountered the problem. Maybe i should install it again from the dvd and block all updates?
The expanded ASCII in my password was also the problem, how stupid it is. I was losing my mind trying to figure why it didn't work for me, you saved me a lot of time even almost a year after, thanks you SO MUCH once again.
If you are using uplay and want to use AC4Tweaker and/or 240fps patch, backup your current AC4BFSP.exe(240fps patch) and move the Scripts file(AC4Tweaker) temporarily. Then install this mod and launch the game once. Be sure to stop connection to ubishit servers on startup and go into Kenways fleet. It should work with this mod. Once you've done that save the game and close it. You can now replace the file(s) from the 240fps patch / AC4Tweaker and you will be able to access kenways fleet without having this mod. Cheers!
Can confirm that this worked! Even if you're just using the AC4Tweaker script file, you still need to backup your original AC4BFSP.exe and use this mod to get past the Kenways Fleet, fvck Ubisoft!
Thank you! This worked! 4/29/25! If I didn't move the scripts folder, it would not launch. It took a good moment to open up while move the files around.
I installed it just as it said including the setting on Steam to update only when I launch it it launched but then it froze up my computer does anyone have any fixes or advice that could help
Looking for a solution aswell, can't stand the fact that i need to either not use the fleet mechanic and have 240 fps. Or have 60 fps but i am able to use the fleed. Neither are worth it lol.
Go to the game folder, find the exe and right click to go to properties. Under Compatibility set it to Windows 95 (yes really). You may also need to change the affinity in task manager for multiple CPU cores, as it uses 1 cpu by default

I had a Ubisoft Connect password which contained signs from expanded ASCII. Changed my password, now it works fine.
