Brawl - Real time combat test 15 - slow motion
Many people have asked if there's a way to slow down combat in Brawl. Unfortunately, I still don't have a good way of doing it with the Script Extender, but there are easy/free third-party tools that can alter the game's speed, so for those that are curious, here's what real-time combat looks like at 70% speed. I used a free, lightweight tool called Speedhack-rs to do this.The two campaign fights have the AI turn timer set to 6 seconds (the default) and the Trials of Tav fight has it set to 3 seconds. Overall, I personally prefer the madcap feeling of normal game speed, but I can definitely see the appeal of slow-mo for intense fights like the Trials of Tav fight -- lots of enemies, an expanded party (6 characters), and a shorter turn timer.0:00 Shadow-cursed shambling mound fight0:58 Last Light Inn defense fight2:12 Trials of Tav - Temple of Bhaal (RogueScore 759)
Brawl - Real time combat test 10 - Hogwild mode
Slowly adding companion configurability to Brawl. In the latest patch, you can specify a maximum spell level, and companions will use spell slots up to that level. There's also a new option called "Hogwild mode", which makes it so that companion spells and other actions are 100% free (no spell slots, no ki points, etc), and they're more likely to use high-level spells -- but so are enemies!0:00 Goblin Camp / Shattered Sanctum4:02 Trials of TavBrawl's AI turn timer was set to 4 seconds in these fights, and the hitpoints multiplier was set to 2.0 (double hitpoints for all units). In the first fight, Full Auto is enabled, so that the AI controls everyone (even the active character); in the second fight, Full Auto is disabled.

Finally got "True Pause" working for both mouse-and-keyboard and controllers, and filed down (all of? most of? some of?) the sharp edges. I overhauled the companion AI and enemy AI this weekend. Tested a few fights in act 1 in the campaign, and of course in Trials of Tav as well.Note -- there's a new setting for the AI's turn length. By default, it's set to 6 seconds. The campaign fights in this video are all at 6 seconds. The Haste Spores - Trials of Tav - RogueScore 5000

As usual, our strategy is to set up an initial chokepoint, knock out as many enemies as we can while we've got em grouped up, and then retreat back to a secondary chokepoint when the first gets overrun -- which is pretty much a sure thing with this many spawns. There were 2 Ansurs that spawned, which was no joke now that the dragon units can (sort of...) move around. The last third of this fight is centered around us slowly whittling down their massive health pools.Note -- this video has been edited, mostly to remove a bunch (~3 hours...yikes) of footage of the AI moving units around. The Unusually Large Githyanki Patrol - Trials of Tav - RogueScore 4100
We wanted to do a souped-up version of the Gith Patrol fight from Act 1 of the campaign -- where you first meet Kithrak and his dragon. Upper Grymforge - Trials of Tav - RogueScore 1100
This map can be tricky to navigate at lower levels. The main area (where you fight Nere in the campaign) is very open and it's easy to get nuked to death if you stand and fight there. The enclosed area with the ladder is better because it has some cover, but it's littered with spawn points, so you'll be dealing with enemies appearing on top of you constantly. Lower Grymforge - Trials of Tav - RogueScore 1090
The lower Grymforge area -- where you fight the lava elemental and get the Sentient Amulet in the campaign -- can be pretty nasty at lower levels. It's very open and there are lots of enemy spawn points throughout the area, and unless you have flight/misty step/etc to escape up the very high cliff, the middle island can be a death trap. But at higher levels this map is relatively straightforward for those same reasons: you can just hang out on the high ledge and take potshots at the enemies puttering around the middle island!Flying solo for this one. Storehouse Brawl - Trials of Tav - RogueScore 1050
This Underdark-by-the-Selunite-Outpost map isn't bad, as long as you hole up in the Storehouse area -- the big mushroom that you start on is just too exposed.
