This mod removes the sound effects that play when you lose your combo, when you gain free-flow mode and when you gain the ability to do a special move (takedown or throw). This was done with UPK Explorer for UE3 https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/587, all I did was finding the names of those sound effects inside the BmGame.upk file and mess with them so the game couldn't find them and play them. Evidently, requires TFC Installer for UE3 https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/588 to be installed.
With this mod, you can use the command console cheat code for unlimited takedowns (Set BmGame.RGameRI Debug_Combat_CanAlwaysTakedown 1) without having to keep hearing the takedown sound after every punch. Refer to COM; Batman; Arkham Asylum; Command Cheat Codes (youtube.com) in case you don't know what I'm talking about.
To install, as mentioned, you require TFC Installer for UE3 https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/588 to be installed.
1. Put the folder of the mod in any folder of your convenience
2. Open TFC Installer
3. Choose your Arkham Asylum main game folder with the "Game folder" button
4. Choose the mod folder with the Texture pack / game patch button
5. Press the "Update Batman Arkham Asylum" button
6. Play the game, you will notice how those weird sound effects during combat are gone
If any problem occurs with this or any other TFC Installer mod, just use the "restore backup" or "uninstall all" buttons, the latter will reset your game at its default condition.
