Is there any way to control how much hunger and thirst the mre reduce? I used them and they seemed a little on the week side. I think it should at least be as potent as the can of beans and the water combined minus the rads

Like the idea, but I have a hard time thinking this is lore friendly. I know New Vegas had them in a dlc, but fallout is based on 1950's life. In the 1950's the D.O.D. used C and K rations. Not MRE's.

Fallout is has a 50s THEME, but the world "ended" in 2077. Nothing wrong at all with MRE existing.

1950's with solid light laser rifles, plasma guns and VTOL aircraft similar to the Osprey (only recently fielded by the DOD). Should I continue?

Fallout isn't "based" on 1950's life, it's a retrofuturistic game. It's what people in the 2000's think people in the 1950's would imagine what the world would look like today and how it would develop in that regard if they were stuck in cultural and (to some degree) technological stagnation. Also, since they showed up in a canon Fallout game they are lore friendly until another piece of Fallout media disputes that. Finally in our world, MRE's were first issued in 1983 so what's to say the same couldn't happen in the Fallout timeline? Considering they have prevalent use of laser and plasma weaponry, sophisticated robots, stealth field technology, VTOL aircraft, orbital space station's as well as advanced nuclear generation and usage. Never hurts to do a bit of research bud.

This looks great! May I ask their stats in Survival?

just imagine you are using purification tabs for the dirty water while you are putting your packs of food into the heating pad with alittle of that purified water and spreading grape jelly on your yummy wheat snack bread while adding the last of your water into your orange drink mix bag!

if you have no idea what i mean and want to learn about MRE'S and watch them eat and explain the MRE'S contents check out these cool reviewers on youtube!

There are a lot of mods to make purified water out of dirty water. It's also really easy to acquire from settlements with any motorized pump!

Dirty water is fine, it makes sense. You would be boiling the MRE pack in the water, as you eat the water (now boiled) would be purified and cooled so you can use for drinking.

Clean water more common to find and get from settlements which make me wonder why Bethesda went with Dirty Water for cooking.

Damn, I was just starting a mod to do the same thing! Happy to share my ideas with you and help you out any way I can.

Like SirBillyBob said, adding it to the LL_Food_Packaged or LL_Loot_Food_Rare leveled lists should get it out randomly in the Commonwealth. You can do this just by opening them up and drag-drop your food item in to them, or via a script - if you're a bit more adventurous.

I can't see an obvious way to restrict it to certain locations. Leveled lists do have a 'Filter Keywords Chances' list which might be a way to do it, but I'm not 100% sure how that works.

You could add it to the LL_Food_Packaged or LL_Loot_Food_Rare. Though I would rather only find these at the military locations. But there isn't a leveled list for just them that I know of. Finding on Gunners is a good idea. Definitely on the BoS. Great job, will endorse!
