Is there any way to manually add doors to this mod so it can close them? I've got a vault door from Settlement Keyword Expanded. I use the vault door as my main gate into sanctuary, but damn npcs leave it open for raiders, so this mod would've been excellent for me if it worked on the door..
I found an even better tutorial, I'll post it here: Pra has added an absolutely wonderful autodoorify fo4edit script to his script bundle HERE: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/28898 Check his page for downloads
It works wonderfully, and it's relatively easy to use.
1) Load your door-containing mods and autodoors in to fo4edit 2) Right click on the mods with doors that you want to autodoorify, and choose 'apply script' 3) At the top of the new pop-up box is a dropdown, choose "autodoorifier" 4) In the next pop up, you can choose your target file. You can make a single, massive autodoors patch if you want by choosing new file and giving it a name, or you can add to an existing auto doors patch. 5) Click ok on any pop-ups that ask you to add masters to your patch 6) Enjoy self-sufficiency and a shiny new autodoors patch.
If I were you, I'd add that as a pinned post, so other people can see it, as this is ten times easier to do, than to manually do it. Especially for people who are not adpet at adding keywords etc.
Currently trying to set up a proximity sensor to open a door in Red Rocket when approached, but I'm also trying to make it so only myself can go through, no npcs or companions. To save space I'm using the wall mounted one, yet even when powered it does nothing to the door. I also tried connecting sensor to a door opener, which resulted in mixed results, sometimes it opened and others it didnt.Tweaking the radius(because I want to have to get really close to open it) didnt seem to do much either.
I have made key pads onto my house in Sanctuary, I only made 1 color card for me to have so no one can go into the home. More then once I have found settlers have entered the restricted home. None of the settlers have a card as I said I only made 1 for my character. Can you help me understand this 'Bug'?
When you enter settlement, or rather a settlement loads the game randomly spawn your settlers, and of course without any regard to locked areas. My mod can't prevent it, but I saw some time ago a mod, where you can put special floor markers which will teleport NPCs somewhere out of it. I don't recall the mod name tho.
i put "keycard panel" [same colour] on both sides of door, otherwise no way to select "activate" when on other side of door. when i try to open a door, using "activate", it usually tells me "access granted", but also "door locked elsewhere". if i stay there long enough, much much more than just a few seconds, holding "activate" the door usually eventually, but not always, opens, using "autonon".
think the mod is great, keeping "my" areas secure, and opening and closing doors automatically with autonon, but the time taken to open the "keycard panel" locked doors is really annoying, to the point i often end up using "tcl" to get through instead.
might i be doing something wrong? any suggestions, please?
Well I'm not sure, as I haven't played F4 for years, but it's either conflict with some other mod, or Bugthesda added some new multy-lock-memory-doors mechanic to the game with recent "next gen" patch.
thank you for replying. much appreciated. i don't think i'm using any other mod that would likely be conflicting, but i know extremely little, basically next to nothing, about modding. i hadn't used it before next gen, so can't compare. as long as i've not got it set up wrong in the first place, that's a help, thank you. one way i've considered getting around it is to have two doors, one for each direction, but not always convenient.
Sorry bro, it was so long ago that I don't remember. Download history search didn't yield result, and my Fallout 4 build refuses to boot. But I think paintings and wood think was from the same mod.
EDIT: oh wait, I just figured this video was made by AWARHERO for me, and the mod he used seems to be was Red Rocket in Wood. IDK about painting tho.
Is there any way to just suppress the "door not detected" message? In my Sanctuary settlement it's just constant spam at this point. Using the mod Easy Homebuilder and Working Double Beds houses which I use to replace the old Sanctuary houses with new ones.
The doors are working correctly with Auto Doors and open and shut (and have an Auto Doors patch) but the "door not detected" message pops up constantly while I'm there.
Please help/advise on how to just remove this message spam. Is there some command I can use? A patch out there somewhere?
*edit* I figured out how to work with this message - have to add doors to every door opening and then add an Auto Doors doohickey to each door, but if I could make a suggestion, perhaps giving us a toggle command to suppress these messages while we're building? Because when starting an early build and adding new buildings with -many- doors like the Sanctuary houses with all their closet doors, needing to add doors immediately isn't ideal. Generally I'd put the furniture in before adding doors just so I can run around with items in build mode without having to get past a closed door which is point of Auto Doors (to auto close doors).
*edit 2* yeah I can't get rid of the message spam in bridge area of Sanctuary no matter what I do, no matter how low I set the search radius.. Please add a suppress 'door not detected" message setting, in a holotape so it's global turn on/off? I don't need the message to know if a door isn't working.
So could we please get a command/toggle for this "door not detected" message?
This message comes from a doorless device which is placed somewhere. And it desperately searching the door to no avail. So just remove such device and message will cease to pop-up.
This happened to me as well. I believe it was because I used transfer a settlements to transfer a settlement that had the previous version of Auto Doors; I had already installed the new version of Auto Doors. So I did as Wenderer instructed and I removed the device and the message went away. Put in some new devices and everything is now groovy.
I found the offender - was all the way in Red Rocket, placed on a doorway I hadn't placed a door into. And that single unit was informing me with non-stop spam all the way over in the bridge area of Sanctuary.
Please can we get a toggle for message, just to avoid this. I really don't need this message to tell me about needing to place doors. I can see for myself when a door is placed and the Auto Door item is working for it.
Consider making a setting holotape that can toggle on the detection sphere(s) of any sensor that's not detecting a door, so they can be easily located. Importing a large settlement with dozens of doors now, and trying to find misplaced door sensors is a pita.
any solution found??? i'm getting the message everywhere i go, on the entire commonwealth map, constantly, every couple of seconds, non stop, it is driving me insane i thought the mod was absolutely fantastic, until this started and wouldn't stop

This is one of those mods you never had, but once you use it you wonder how you ever did without it. It's awesome!! This is a must have QoL mod.
Makes me feel at peace that my settlements virtual doors close automatically. Two thumbs up to the mod author.
Endorsed!
