Was curious and tested this out, but added massive stuttering when moving between areas. Because it's running out of VRAM now. I followed the info you suggest for 8GB VRAM card. The games textures are on Medium which is what they were on before without stuttering.
I'm only putting there here for anyone that might not understand why their game is stuttering now, don't use this config or tweak it heavily, or use one of the more performance that's been tested with low VRAM, this one just seems to wack everything on high and hasn't been tested with lesser VRAM cards, i only assumed it might have since it has recommendations for 6 and 8GB cards, but i'll admit i had my doubts when nothing about lowering shadow resolution was mentioned which has been set to 4k.
After reading other comments, it seems like others say the same about VRAM. I didn't have an issue before so i don't recommend this config.
This mod isn't packaged correctly. Therefore, Vortex doesn't automatically know where to put the files. That's a red flag for me. I'm going to try out other optimizer mods first before this one.
Anyone know what setting controls the interactivity prompts (the arrows for climbing walls, jumping mushrooms in gongaga etc.) and other general particle effects? They've become super pixelated and blurry
so tried out the new version, but I seem to get big drops in fps outta nowhere, it looks really good though! Had to revert back to version 2.4 though cause the fps drops are too inconsistent.
It appears there is some sort of memory loss or something. went from 5 giga used to straight up to 20gb used in about 20-25 minutes while playing in Corel. Never happened before without the tweaks
Me too. I used the recommended VRAM settings from the Engine.ini for 24GB VRAM on my 4090 with 32GB RAM, but crashed to desktop after 20-30 minutes due to running out of video memory.
Still overfilling VRAM. Seems to work well right up until it fills.

Set pool size to 8192, didn't work. Set to 4096 and no real difference. RAM pool was appropriate too. Starting to wonder if the magic fixes for Remake would work for this game. I had to set pool size pretty high and maxtempmemory to 64 to prevent that game from stuttering. I'll report back if that does anything.
EDIT: doesn't overfill VRAM but performs worse than just leaving it alone
Remove the r.Streaming.PoolSize variable. It will overflow regardless of what you set it to. By default with High Textures, it is set to 4000. Just let it be and it works well.
@abob36 r.Streaming.MaxTempMemoryAllowed is related to RAM usage, not VRAM usage (though yes, it can have an effect on VRAM). You typically want this set to 1/2 your RAM. So 8192 if you have 16 GB of RAM, 16384 if you have 32 GB of RAM, and 4096 for 8GB.
I believe r.Streaming.MaxTempMemoryAllowed is for RAM, which you'll want to set to 8192 for 16GB. As for VRAM overfilling, set the pool size to less than 25% of your VRAM. I set mine to 4096 (4GB) and am able to still utilize a pool without overfilling. For a 2080ti, try setting r.Streaming.PoolSize to 2048.
Absolutely not. "r.Streaming.MaxTempMemoryAllowed" is how fast textures are streamed. Setting this to half of your RAM is silly and utter nonsense. The vanilla value on high is set to 500. I have 32GB RAM. If this had anything to do with System RAM, why cannot i set this value above 10000? If i do i get completely borked textures with missing details etc. For the Remake title "768" was the sweet spot for me and many others. For Rebirth, the sweet spot for me seems to be 1200.
All you people saying to set "r.Streaming.Poolsize" to 80% of your VRAM and "r.Streaming.MaxTempMemoryAllowed" to half your RAM are silly and none of you even know what you are talking about. Take it easy but people shouldn't give advice to others when they themselves dont know much. Just some friendly food for thought because it makes the world so much worse when laymen want to school others. Much love.
You can't technically enable DLAA in-game as I understand it, it's a little unclear if it's actually using it so the Nvidia settings recommendation is to ensure that it's set

I appreciate it but with these settings you have missing weapons and materia not showing in the menu. And what up with "r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0, r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=1"? You should only have one or the other.
