Try to follow the instructions to the letter. You can ask chat gpt or another ai for guidance if you're lost. Copy paste the instructions to the AI and it should be able to guide you more precisely.
i see in your changelogs you've fixed the drive bys on catalyst and on reunited the families!
the only other bug besides the ones you've fixed above that i've run into was on Freefall. It was strangely specific, but the part where you land on the plane and eliminate the hitmen. It works fine at first! but if you fail and retry, theres a chance it will send you into this almost all white void, and no matter what if i reloaded the plug-in or reinitialized VR runtime or played with the camera it was messed up! I just reloaded my save and did the mission, lol.

Will look into it in any case. Also, the latest update broke the camera (the ingame weapon) controls. Will also fix it next week.

The other thing is the steering. Sometimes it seems to lock up when i'm turning. I saw below someone mentioned to change the shifting method, but i don't understand what to? It's just box with a number 0 in it. Is there a guide to show what i can edit this to?
Another problem i'm having is audio cutting out, mainly sound effects. dialogue and if i remember correctly, music, is still there, it's just sfx with the issue.
Also, textures not loading in, in the mission where you're running back home from the funeral. It wasn't until i crossed the bridge near grove street where the textures were cake, and didn't pop back to normal until i hit the cutscene at the end. That's the only time it's happened so far, and i played about 30 mins solid last night.
Having such a blast with this mod man, thank you. Hoping to get a full playthrough recorded for youtube if these issues can be fixed.
update 1: i tried openxr instead of openvr and so far i can see ui in shops and i managed to see the option for shifting, which i set to 'game', and steering feels great! i will report on the other things later.
update 2: i've played around 5-6 missions now and started a fresh playthrough for recording. The funeral mission (sweet and kendl) again had textures that didn't load in, but in a different section of the mission. What i have found to fix both this and the audio cutting out, is getting off the bike. So the same applies with other vehicles if you're in one. You'll hear the sound come back and the textures do usually come back as well, but if not, just get back into the vehicle and it should fix it.
What i have discovered while replaying though, is when I tried to open the steam vr overlay to go to desktop view, it did something to my inputs. I couldn't navigate the game's menu screen, so i couldn't save the game either. The fix i found for this, was to save the game by taking my headset off and using my mouse, as i could still click on the menus with that, and it saved.
It's like it refreshes the state of the game when you do that, and it seems to fix that problem and i can navigate menus again. I'm just going old school and saving after every mission to hopefully prevent an issue popping up during missions
Textures not loading and sound cutting is a known issue that will be fixed in the next update. You can also reset the plugin in uevr menu > PluginLoader as another workaround.
About the game not responding to inputs, it's probably the windows focus that's lost from the game when you do some stuff outside of it. Just click on the game window from the desktop view of steam VR and inputs should work again when you'll get back inside. You shouldn't have to take off the hmd for that. Never tried in SteamVR but I know it works that way for sure in the desktop view of Virtual Desktop so, it should be the same there.
Thanks for the update too. I've been recording my playthrough for my youtube but i may wait until you have a fix for the sound/textures. I've noticed both are linked together now, when the sound effects cut out and i keep driving, that's when i'll end up arriving to the bad textures too.
If it helps at all, I've noticed it happens more after a cutscene. pretty much as soon as you're in a car after one, that's when the sound will usually cut out.

Ithink i remember seeing a post with someone talking about the low rider mission and not seeing the UI for it, and i at that time i was having problems seeing the UI in the barber shop, and switching from openvr to openxr fixed that, but now trying the low rider mission i can't see the UI, so i dunno if it's a different issue to just switching to openxr?
I thought i'd try another mission while i wait for a fix on that, and tried the train robbery mission with ryder, but on that one when you're on the train, the camera just pans up far away, and it's near impossible to pass the boxes lol. I had to try and use my regular controller and passed a few boxes to ryder, but once you get higher, no matter how lightly you throw the box it's too far away.

You're welcome. All of these issues have been fixed in the latest update (v1.3.4). Update and set the display mode to "windowed" in the graphic settings (this is for the minigames) and you'll be good if you use OpenXR. For steamVR/openVR, the UI issue for all shops & minigames remains for now. No matter what you use, if you stumble uppon other similar issues, you can either enable the "2D screen" mod in the uevr menu > Runtime, or play in flatscreen to pass those. The 2D screen allows to keep playing in flatscreen inside VR without having to restart the game and take off the hmd at least.

Will there be an update in the future to try and get it working with borderless windowed/fullscreen? The only issue i have with the windowed setting, is recording the gameplay. I use OBS for recording VR, and usually set it to record from the game screen, but doing this is messing up the resolution. I can't seem to make the game window fit the recording screen properly. i have just set it to record the desktop screen instead and have set the games resolution to my monitor, and that does fill the screen better, but i can still see the window bar at the top of the game window, and the taskbar at the bottom, so i'm going to try and edit it later to see if i can crop those bits out and see how it looks. Hopefully it won't look stretched out lol.
Also, the audio/asset loading issue is still occuring for me. As soon as i loaded up the game and got into ryders car next door, the sound went out within a few seconds. The strange thing though, is it only happened when leaving the street normally on the road, and not using the side alleyway shortcut. Also, anytime i leave the lowrider garage after getting the first lowrider, the sound has cut out everytime there, and i've replayed the mission 4 times now. After finishing the mission it didn't cut out there though, so it feels like it happens more randomly now than before to be honest. I can't rememeber it cutting out before from just driving, it was just after cutscenes
- For SteamVR, I need to do more test before updating the mod description, some users reports something and other reports the inverse. Will have to dig a bit more.
- An update for borderless no, a lot of other mods with uevr behave that way, and I can't afford the time to work on it myself unfortunately. But I think you can switch to fullscreen (not borderless) once uevr is injected. You'll still be able to see the minigames UI that way. But I know fullscreen is a pain if you have to switch between several apps when recording. The only alternative I could suggest you is to record your entire screen, and zoom a bit the recording zone on the windowed game, you can manipulate this zone in obs when recording an entire screen. You'll loose only a tiny portions of the screen but it'll still be viewable enough. Update : I'm not able to reproduce the audio/asset loading issue with VD & Airlink + openXR. Tried with several save files, did the Cesar Vialpando low rider mission, tried Rider's car. No issues at all. Will boot it up with Steam VR to be sure. In the meantime, are you sure you updated the mod correctly ? To be sure, click on "Open Global Dir" in uevr injector, then delete "SanAndreas" folder. Reimport the profile and test.
Update 2 : Still no audio/asset loading issue on SteamVR + openVR, and no issues either on SteamVR + openXR. So either you haven't updated the mod correctly, or there's something else happening here. If other people have the issue, please signal it. And about the minigames UI working on SteamVR, it doesn't for me with both openXR and openVR. But it works with Virtual desktop and Airlink on openXR. I don't know what black sorcery is happening on your pc 😅

As long as I know certain things can't be worked on or resolved, I'll probably just record missions giving me serious issues in flat, to post along with my VR playthrough. That's what I did for the last couple of videos when editing them, to be honest, just zooming in the image a bit on my editing software and adjusting the frame so you could still see everything, so it was all good :)

I know in your description you said you could just import again, but I decided to just do a complete fresh install of the mod with the updated files instead, just to make extra sure that I wouldn't mess it up, so I dunno why that wouldn't have worked... lol I will try it the way you've suggested instead, and open global dir, delete and reimport, thank you man!

I haven't changed anything on UEVR outside of what you've suggested, as far as i'm aware, so I can't think what I would have altered to make it work, except for selecting openxr lol. The only thing i could think is that i'm using a PSVR2 headset, if that could be bypassing something?

I even tested teh catalyst mission with ryder with the boxes and completed it with zero problems. worked perfectly.

update 2: i just tried the life's a beach mission for og loc, and since i updated it properly i couldn't see the UI for the dance mini game, while in windowed. i ended up switching to fullscreen and it showed up again then
First off, fantastic work on this project so far! I'm even making a video review for it cause I'm genuinely impressed to be running around the streets of Los Santos in VR with this!
However I have run into a variety of bugs, that thankfully you have addressed with your latest updates.
I've been testing this mod throughout the story just cause I want to make sure its fully playable through the story before making that claim in the video, but one of the most vital missions towards the end of the Los Santos chapter, is bugged for me.
On Reuniting the Families, when you get to the car and pull out the AK to take out the cops on your ass, before the most recent update, it would have the same issue that Catalyst use to have, where the camera would elevate or fall under the floor depending on your position, and on top of that, your shots wouldn't register with what you were aiming at, so you couldn't take out the cops. That seems to be fixed, however, the camera now starts viciously spinning around once you get in the car. Shots seem to hit their targets from what i can tell while the camera is spinning, but if you move the thumbstick you can kinda pull the camera back like you're pulling back a fishing line(closest comparison I could think of), but it eventually goes back to spinning based on camera position, and your physical position. So it seems that mission is bugged out. And I'm assuming later missions that could take control of your camera like this could also experience issues as well.

I appreciate you looking into it! I found a file with some saves, so I was able to skip the mission for now, but I'll keep my save there in case you're able to revisit that section. I'll continue through the story and report back to this thread with anymore bugs I encounter. Or I can always post em in the bugs section if you want. But I'll continue testing on my end.
Reporting issues only in the bug section is better, so I can easily track what still needs to be done. It's ok to post in this section too but a bit less practical for me. Not sure I understood correctly, but about the save files, you can also continue your game in flatscreen if your stuck somewhere, and get back in VR after. Rename both .pak files in "GTA San Andreas - The Definitive Edition\Gameface\Content\Paks\~mods\" to something like "*.pak.old" to get the crosshairs again in flatscreen. Remove the ".old" when getting back into vr.
Fixed 🙋♂️ V1.3.6 - Camera handling and 6dof weapon aiming for the drive by scripted sequence in the mission "Reuniting the families" fixed. - Camera handling cleaned up for mission "Catalyst". - Added a shoot detection memory address for drive by scripted sequences. (Required for recoil handling during mission "Reuniting the families") - More reliable objects hook reset when required. Should fix the view offseted from the body happening in some specific cases.
So having found out this won't work on the RockStar Store version, I have tried numerous quack fixes, file edits and pure pirated copies. I am just not getting it to work.

but does anyone know if it will be the steam version it downloads,

Thanks ! Weird, never had this issue and you're the first reporting it. Have you changed the UEVR settings UI Size and Distance and Framework Size and Distance ? You can check in uevr menu > Runtime. Or delete the profile by clicking on "Open Global Dir" in uevr injector, then delete "SanAndreas" folder. Reimport the profile and test.
If on virtual desktop, keep the Oculus menu button down for a few seconds. On airlink, you may have to open the oculus menu and click on recenter on the lower panel. You can also recenter from the uevr menu (both joystick button, then click on recenter in the Runtime tab). For the radio, use the dpad binding. Check the mod description, you'll find a picture of the controls layout. Right thumbrest + left joystick direction.
Hey Right now there is no way to complete the lifes a beach mission for me, with the dancing minigame. I assume same thing will happen with the lowrider mission. Do I just go back to flatscreen for these missions?
Otherwise incredible mod, I can live with the flash! Being IN san andreas feels so damn good!

No problem, im already on XR. I reached the dancing mission, the lowrider mission and the throwing crates mission so I am "soft locked" in VR at least. Gonna do those in flat screen.

Love the mod. Made me start a new playthrough, it started off great but then I started seeing my crosshair, including the sniper crosshair in the middle of the screen.I tried to re-import the profile and messed around with the UI etc but no luck.
Also, I was getting audio issues randomly while driving. Just cuts off the engine noise
Please look into it as this almost flawless, thank you for this amazing mod.

Thanks ! For the crosshairs, you need to copy and paste the folder containing the texture .paks provided in the zip of the mod. It shouldn't disappear like that though, you maybe have another issue not related to the mod there. For the sound issue, it's indeed my mod, I'll work on it and update asap. In the meantime, you can either exit and reenter the vehicle, or reset the plugin in uevr menu > PluginLoader as a workaround. 🙋♂️

I followed the steps you said, and i've tested 4 missions now where i know sound was cutting out, as well as going to the pay and sprays and no audio cuts or asset loading issues, thanks man!
I even tested teh catalyst mission with ryder with the boxes and completed it with zero problems. worked perfectly.
Really appreciate your help with that man, looking forward to flying through the game now! :D
update 2:
i just tried the life's a beach mission for og loc, and since i updated it properly i couldn't see the UI for the dance mini game, while in windowed. i ended up switching to fullscreen and it showed up again then
However I have run into a variety of bugs, that thankfully you have addressed with your latest updates.
I've been testing this mod throughout the story just cause I want to make sure its fully playable through the story before making that claim in the video, but one of the most vital missions towards the end of the Los Santos chapter, is bugged for me.
On Reuniting the Families, when you get to the car and pull out the AK to take out the cops on your ass, before the most recent update, it would have the same issue that Catalyst use to have, where the camera would elevate or fall under the floor depending on your position, and on top of that, your shots wouldn't register with what you were aiming at, so you couldn't take out the cops. That seems to be fixed, however, the camera now starts viciously spinning around once you get in the car. Shots seem to hit their targets from what i can tell while the camera is spinning, but if you move the thumbstick you can kinda pull the camera back like you're pulling back a fishing line(closest comparison I could think of), but it eventually goes back to spinning based on camera position, and your physical position. So it seems that mission is bugged out. And I'm assuming later missions that could take control of your camera like this could also experience issues as well.
Keep up the fantastic work! The fact you've continued updating the mod is awesome!
And thanks for the feedback. Haven't had the time to test everything so, I clearly need people to report those bugs so I can iron them out. Will look into it and tell you back.
Not sure I understood correctly, but about the save files, you can also continue your game in flatscreen if your stuck somewhere, and get back in VR after. Rename both .pak files in "GTA San Andreas - The Definitive Edition\Gameface\Content\Paks\~mods\" to something like "*.pak.old" to get the crosshairs again in flatscreen. Remove the ".old" when getting back into vr.

- Added a shoot detection memory address for drive by scripted sequences. (Required for recoil handling during mission "Reuniting the families")
- More reliable objects hook reset when required. Should fix the view offseted from the body happening in some specific cases.

I wondering if anyone knows if this would be a solution, on steam there is the gta+ subscriptions, it has the trilogy included,
but does anyone know if it will be the steam version it downloads,
basically at around £7 a month vs £60 its a no brainer given I likely would be bored or there be a steam sale before the subscription surpasses the game price.
Weird, never had this issue and you're the first reporting it. Have you changed the UEVR settings UI Size and Distance and Framework Size and Distance ? You can check in uevr menu > Runtime.
Or delete the profile by clicking on "Open Global Dir" in uevr injector, then delete "SanAndreas" folder. Reimport the profile and test.
For the radio, use the dpad binding. Check the mod description, you'll find a picture of the controls layout. Right thumbrest + left joystick direction.
Otherwise incredible mod, I can live with the flash! Being IN san andreas feels so damn good!
Are you using openVR or openXR on the uevr injection settings ?
If you're using openXR and still don't see the mini game, then yeah, you'll have to do those in flatscreen.
I'll have a look on that issue but I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to fix it.
Following the train and just business have been amazing in vr, holy s#*!!
For the minigames, set the display mode to "windowed" and you should be able to see them.
Also, I was getting audio issues randomly while driving. Just cuts off the engine noise
Please look into it as this almost flawless, thank you for this amazing mod.

For the crosshairs, you need to copy and paste the folder containing the texture .paks provided in the zip of the mod. It shouldn't disappear like that though, you maybe have another issue not related to the mod there.
For the sound issue, it's indeed my mod, I'll work on it and update asap. In the meantime, you can either exit and reenter the vehicle, or reset the plugin in uevr menu > PluginLoader as a workaround. 🙋♂️
