SHADOW FLICKERING: After some research, it seems that the shadow flickering is an issue with the game itself, not the mod. Since the mod increases the view distance and other parameters, it only amplifies a problem that already exists in the base game.
The only way to fix this is to wait for an official patch from the developers or a mod specifically designed to address this issue.
Any guess how this should work out with an rtx 4070 ti super? And I'm also willing to enable dlss and/or frame generation to achieve better frames :) Thanks in advance!
I have your GPU and tried the lite version with frame gen and DLAA at1440p... Not worth it imo. i removed most lines and just kept a few related to LOD, then leave all settings at ultra except texture, object, and volumetric at experimental and i think that is the sweetspot.
I'm sorry but this cfg is just awful. All it does, as others have said, is slam everything to experimental and turns off vsync. It is not a good combination with the KDC2 Enchanced Visuals mod. The latter however is excellent on it's own, so I do recommend it. With DLAA Quality, and these optimized settings. I'm running a 4070ti @ 1440p.
-Object Detail : High or Ultra (CPU intensive) so I choose Ultra -Particles - Med -Lighting : High -Global Illumination : High -Post Processing : Ultra or Low if not using motion blur -Shader Quality : High -Shadows : Medium or High -Textures : High or Ultra -Volumetric Effects Detail : High -Vegetation Detail : Medium or High -Character Detail : High
This is a fantastic video that explains the above and provides comparisons between the different settings.
I spent about 30 minutes and was finally able to figure out the command that causes the indoor flickering just deleted this command "e_ViewDistRatioLights = 200"
But in the end I deleted the entire command block, because sometimes there was flickering in the shadows outside the doors too: e_ViewDistMin = 100 e_ViewDistRatio = 300 e_ViewDistRatioCustom = 200 e_ViewDistRatioDetail = 200 e_ViewDistRatioLights = 200 e_ViewDistRatioVegetation = 400 e_ViewDistCompMaxSize = 400
p.s. And thank you very much for such a mod R3MINDOFFICIAL
Hi, only way for me to reduce the flickering at night is to decrease value for e_ShadowsCastViewDistRatioLights to 0.15 (e_ShadowsCastViewDistRatioLights=0.15 which I believe is the "experimental" value) and also, as posted below, to remove "Vertical Light Fix" (if you have it that is) by simply adding "wh_e_VerticalLightCulling = 3" in the console command. This basically fixed the flickering issue for me.
I really don't know why you say that is "very misleading", when I just stated that "...CPU (minimum 8 core) are recommended...". For real.. how can a recommendation be interpreted as "very misleading"?
Anyway, I said that, because when I see my i9-14900K (8 P-Cores + 16 E-Cores) usage, I assumed that a CPU with at least 8 cores is recommended, in order to have a decent framerate. Unless you enjoy the heavy stuttering (CPU bottleneck, you know..). That's my CPU graph when I play KCD2:
Also, saying that "6 cores is perfect"... "Perfect" for what? 720p? 1080p? 4K? DLSS ON/OFF?

I really like the mod, but the ligh/shadow issues at night are a big issue... This is very bad...
Hope that helps!
I had horrible shadow flicker inside buildings but also outside sometimes.
When I delete your mod everything is fine again.
(I have a 7950X3D and a RTX 4090 + 32GB DDR5 RAM and an M.2 SSD)
