Seems a lot of people have trouble getting this mod to work. You can also hard code your spouses in the .xml files. (this also works for characters coming from other mods). This will be a guide for that. You need to have the mod enabled.
ATTENTION : Before making any changes to vanilla or mod files, always make a copy of them as a backup.
For vanilla characters.
Open: Mount & Blade II Ba?nnerlord\Modules\SandBox\ModuleData\heroes.xml. This is your character
What you need is the id="main_hero" and faction="Faction.player_faction"
Provided you already know the noble you want to marry you need to find his/her id in this file. Let's just say I want Liena, Arwa and Svana. (I will show only Liena here). To find Liena's id we must go to the lords.xml at Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\SandBox\ModuleData\lords.xml. There, use ctrl+f to find Liena
Now we know her id (lord_4_11) and we can go back to heroes.xml. Again ctrl+f using lord_4_11 and we get
Now add spouse="Hero.main_hero"
and replace the faction with faction="Faction.player_faction"
In the end it should look like this
Some notes: I don't know if you can edit the files when you are already in a campaign. Should work I think. You can also "marry" already married characters this way. Simply replace the spouse with Hero.main_hero and change the faction like before.
For characters coming from other mods
Will be using this mod for an example ( Calradia Girl Troop Tree ). Because I am a degenerate man of culture
You basically do the same with custom nobles. Go to modules/the mod/moduledata/lords.xml and heroes.xml find the corresponding noble names and ids and add the spouse and faction code.
ATTENTION!! This mod adds a clan to a kingdom but since the edit this clan doesn't exist anymore since all the members of this example are in the players clan. So now we have to delete the file that creates the clan (MAKE A COPY FIRST OF THE spclans.xml )
That's it. Enjoy your harem simulator!!
P.S. this took some time so I hope at least one of you found this useful. :)
EDIT: Since this is sticky, the only way to use the mod itself (at the time of the edit) is to edit the config file in \Modules\MarryAnyone\config.json and change these to true. Cheating must be true in order for the other options to work. "Polygamy": true, "Incest": true, "Cheating": true,
I have Alynneth as wife through the game (Not edited) I would like Adalindis as wife as well.
When I tried your edit with Adalindis, <Hero id="lord_4_28_1" is_noble="true" spouse="Hero.main_hero" father="Hero.lord_4_28" faction="Faction.player_faction" /> it did not seem to work.
I looked at Alynneth record in heros.xml <Hero id="lord_5_11" is_noble="true" father="Hero.lord_5_3" faction="Faction.clan_battania_2" /> and I did not find a spouse="Hero.main_hero" entry but still I am the spouse and the game recognizes it. Of course, I assume that after this edit I should see Adalindis as my wife listed in the clan tab. When I go to Adalindis, I cannot add her to my party either.
Is hero.xml file saved when game is saved? Am I doing something wrong or has the process been changed by the developers? Has anyone had success with editing it?
Hello I see that your character has a lot of wives do you know what ID The main characters sister has I have tried to make these characters my male characters wives in bannerlord Hajara,Casyera, ira,Rhagea but nothing seems to work not sure why
Hello I have tried exactly what you have said but nothing works whether or not the developers have patched it or not I don’t know just I cannot get it to work I have done exactly what you said and yet nothing is working
This only does work with new game file not the saved files.
My errors are happening where when you right-click the faction, (I am using Calradia Girl's troop as well) it should open the encyclopedia, but instead, it crashes.
Hi, been having issues with Marry Anyone and Realm of Thrones, got the newest versions of both mods but when I go to move on the world map after loading (or creating) a game, any ideas/fixes?
Probably gonna get me banned but this guy is no longer updating the mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/users/53541941 This link is to the page of the user who is updating this mod.
working fine for me on 1.1.6. possible mod conflict? i know that in the past i was never able to load this mod in on any version without first booting up with harmony and mod menu mods first. save. and then load that save with marry anyone enabled to it afterword. could also be the issue
Just installed it once again and it seems to be working so far. In fact I have started flirting with Rhagaea and will try to marry her this time instead of her daughter. I am using the version for the 1.1.6 version of the Bannerlord game since I am using Eagle Rising and BannerKings together although they are not compatible according to its creators. Also using the Lemmy map so it is super confused at the moment yet no crashes, not when I access the library nor when I walk or anything, even if there are 4 empire factions, due to the BannerKings mod plus the map that creates new factions. Wish me good luck with the upcoming marriage! I hope it won't go like my RL marriages
Correction. I am using the updated version of this mod. Apologies for the confusion. You may find it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/5240

Go to the mod options while in a save to change the settings.
The settings will not be in the main menu.
