This is a series of questions that generally get asked on pages for other NVSE plugins.
Q. Does this mod replace JIP LN NVSE Plugin, JohnnyGuitar NVSE, and SUP NVSE? A. No, ShowOff does not replace those plugins. It is meant to be installed and used along side them.
Q. Will you support NVSE 5.1.4? A. No. Due to features in xNVSE that this plugins need, it is not feasible to support legacy versions of NVSE.
Q. Can I update this mod mid-game? A. Yes. As with most NVSE plugins, ShowOff is perfectly safe to update mid-game, and it is recommended you do so.
Q. My Anti-virus says this mod is a virus. Is this true? A. No, it is a false positive. Due to the way NVSE plugins work, some AVs flag them as malicious. Be sure to add an exception in your anti-virus.
Q. Does this mod work with Fallout 3? A. No. Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas mods like script extender plugins are NOT cross compatible unless otherwise noted.
Q. I am getting an insane amount of perk points. Why is this happening and how do I fix it? A. It's a bug in an older version. Update ShowOff and stop using Nexus Collections. They often contain out of date versions of mods and broken mods. If you want a stable and curated mod list, it is recommended to use Viva New Vegas.
If you are having trouble getting the plugin to load, or it is crashing, please try the following steps:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of xNVSE installed. 2. Make sure the game and mod manager are not installed in a UAC protected folder such as Program FIles (x86). UAC folder locations have special permissions that can stop NVSE plugins from working. 3. Make sure your operating system is fully up to date. 4. Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. Nvidia drivers can be found here, AMD drivers can be found here, and Intel drivers can be found here. 5. Make sure your mod manager is up to date. 6. Make sure you have the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redist installed. 2015-2022 (x86). 7. Install 4GB Patcher for the Steam and GOG versions of the game, or Epic Games Patcher for the Epic Games Store version of the game, and run the game from FalloutNV.exe. This will autoload NVSE and any NVSE plugins. 8. Add an exception for Fallout New Vegas, your mod manager, and your mods folder to your anti-virus to prevent it from falsely blocking/deleting your mods. 9. Run the game and mod manager as an administrator. 10. If none of the above work, try installing the plugin manually in Fallout New Vegas/data/nvse/plugins. 11. If you are getting a crash with the mod, please use Yvile's Crash Logger and post the log on Pastebin, and we will look into it.
So I've had the dumbest bug of all time for a while now and I tracked it down to this or something else hoping I might get an answer here but I doubt. So since January/February of this year I've been having crash issues with the game when the internet is off (sometimes I'm playing NV outside on my laptop) and whenever there's no net connection the game will not start unless I disable Show-off. Got any clue here bro? if I'm being a nexus commenter retard then I apologize in advance
It's probably some mod that requires both SUP and ShowOff. SUP has internet connectivity and then disabling ShowOff would cause the scripts to fail. So I don't think correlation equals causation.
It's the only interior NPC respawn I know of in its current state. (NPC only. no container) I've been using these for years now and I've never had any problems. (maybe I'm just not aware of it.)
I have the latest xNVSE version, and I tested this. The mod loads and works fine if I add it in first, but the moment I add IScontrol iron sights adjuster, it suddenly forgets what version of nvse I have and says it's -1. Then it refuses to work and shuts down. I *need* both of these together in order for hitman's guns animation overhaul to work. But this addon just seemingly doesn't wanna work together with it even though it's listed as a hard requirement. It doesn't help that due to the lack of an esp it simply cannot be changed in the load order.
had the same issues, manually installed the showoff files in the NVSE plug in folder and seems to solve it; but now it it says it cant read a couple of lines in it, still figuring it out but i think its because my game is from GOG. other steam users seem to solve it completely by manually instaling, hope it helps
So I found the problem. I had "ShowOFF INI" installed while I had "ShowOFF xNVSE" Installed. Once I deleted "ShowOFF INI" it instantly started working.
Could you explain what affects [ fHandFatigueDamageMult ] and [ fFatigueAttackWeaponMult ]? I'd like to know if I can get a damage boost from dumping points in Strength and such other ideas. I went to the GeckWiki page and found out they're unused gamesettings but aside from that I got zero info out of that (and in general from google).
Well it appears anything that would play a console command in the background triggers the console appearing in game. Such as entering a new land space or loading of mods. I believe that with so many triggers simply disabling the console feedback this mod provides would work. I am using older versions of ShowOff xNVSE to cancel this effect. It's simply this updated mod alone that causes the console problem.

It's probably something else. I don't think ShowOff connections to the internet.
setEventHandler "ShowOff:OnPreActivate" hmExplosiveTargetEH 0::27 || 28 1::player 2::1
with 27 being the form type ID for containers and 28 for doors. I've also tried leaving that blank. No matter what, it seems to trigger my UDF.
If this is enabled, is the FNV Respawn Timer no longer required?

This is clearly a false error, as I have downloaded the latest version. What is causing this? It just refuses to work.
