Q) Why shouldn't I install with Vortex? A) Vortex is unsupported. Due to the region and NPC edits included in this mod, which are highly sensitive to load order, Vortex is not a suitable tool for installing Nova Arizona. Previously we were receiving many false bug reports from Vortex users who were unfamiliar with manual load order management, so the decision was made to discourage Vortex installs to filter out these reports. PSA: LOOT IS NOT A USEFUL TOOL FOR NEW VEGAS. IT ONLY RANDOMIZES YOUR LOAD ORDER!
Q) Is this compatible with X...? A) In 99% of cases the answer is yes. This mod touches very few vanilla records. The only mod that is confirmed to be hard incompatible is the old first episode of Tales of New Reno.
Q) How do I gain access to Arizona? A) To maintain the vanilla pacing, the vast majority of our content will be inaccessible until you have met Benny and acquired the Mark of Caesar. At the start of Render Unto Caesar, Lucullus will first take you to the docks at Camp Willow before escorting you the rest of the way to the Fort on foot. At this point you are free to wander off and explore on your own. If you don't care about immersion, you can either use TCL to get into Arizona or TMM 1 to enable all fast travel markers.
Q) Do I have to run xLODGen? A) As of 0.23, the mod comes bundled with pre-generated terrain and object LOD. You must still install and enable the required resource plugins in the Viva New Vegas LOD Guide for objects to unload properly. Keep in mind that LOD files are only meshes and textures that if installed properly can be disabled at any time.
Q) Why are objects popping in? A) Another mod is overwriting Nova Arizona's object LOD. Check your loose files and BSAs, including in MO2's overwrite folder.
Q) Why is some of the landscape covered by blurry textures? A) Another mod is overwriting Nova Arizona's terrain LOD. Check your loose files and BSAs, including in MO2's overwrite folder.
Q) Why is my Pip-Boy map offset? A) Either you are missing hNVSE or our Pip-Boy map texture is being overwritten by another mod.
Q) Will there be consistency patches for FPGE/TLD? A) Quests are being designed with post-game consequences in mind and an FPGE patch is planned after our base content has been finished, if no one else has made one by then. Any mod authors are free to create and upload patches themselves. We can host them here if you so desire. On TLD parity: currently we plan to natively include world encounters and reactivity within Arizona that should bring our content up to par with TLD's. If a patch is warranted to have this mod affect the vanilla parts of the worldspace or existing TLD content, we will look into making one.
If Vortex is unsupported because it isn't a suitable tool for installing a mod like this (and in general I might add), then that begs the question. Why does Nexus even bother supporting Vortex to begin with? Viva New Vegas and The Best of Times already fill the role of a beginner-friendly introduction to modding.
It's a hassle for noobs to go to three different sites and guides instead of watching a video inside of their mod manager. And yes, vortex can install this just fine. I've never had an issue installing anything, I genuinely do not know why people are saying it doesn't work. I've installed over 5000 mods and every single one has worked as intended.
ayy i know its says that vortex is unsupported so what do i do.? can i still use vortex if i have the correct load order.? if not what my options.? sorry im new to modding
i know in the installer it says no need for map add on weather patch, however to get the pip boy map add on to work i had to put the mad add on.esp on the very bottom and that did something to the weather making it looking very rough. no matter i where in the plugin load order i couldn't get it to work nice with my weather, don't know if it is something else random,
worse case still want to use mod, might just see if i can unlock the pip boy cursor so i can move it more on the map and stick with vanilla world pip boy map
Possibly a stupid question, but if the Legion hates me - which they probably will! - Will I need a disguise to experience most of this content? And would I be correct in assuming I'll have to leave Boone behind?
Deeply impressed with the work you've done and the fact that this mod is still getting updates, too!
Sincerely,

i'm not understanding what you mean. nova aerizona only touches the area of the map east of the river whitch to my knowledge no other quest mod touches.
tales of new reno in fact places huge new areas on the same spot as nova arizona, anyway its never "safe" to remove a mod, but doing so on a save that has never went to that area should minimize stuff missing and floating there
i have looked more into this and geez. i don't think the rework of ep 1 is fixing that.
edit: my advice? make a profile in mo2 just for cellblock pycho's mods. they conflict so much with other quest mods it's better to just do them as your only quest mods that playthrough,
yeah uninstalling a visual mod just reverts it back to vanilla so thats safe. if it's a full on new world space your game is gonna break or worse crash on load.
Hello, and congratulations on such an ambitious and exciting looking project. While I can appreciate that you don't want to support multiple mod managers, if those of us who use other options could at least install the mod (at our own risk and without any expectation of support), I'd love to do so in the future. I've got a very stable and fun Vortex build going.
Regardless, best wishes on the the development of the project.
