Yes, WinGDK is for GamePass. Thankfully, paths are different so it's safe to have evetything at once, WinGDK is simply unused on Steam, and Win64 is simply unused on GamePass.
I have installed everything accordingly, yet I still have the Tags.. Can someone help? Im on the Steam Version and tried using Vortex and the manual method. All files are where they are supposed to be
Go to "<Documents>\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\OBSE\Logs" folder. Find "obse64.txt" file there and remove it completely. Launch the game using OBSE64 and exit it after you reach the main menu. Return to the "obse64.txt" file and check if it contains anything about NLTagRemover. If it's not even mentioned, you've installed the mod incorrectly or Vortex messed up your paths or maybe something else happened.
1. Click on the link on the description page that says "Ultimate ASI Loader" a) Scroll to the bottom of the Github Page and click on "Ultimate-ASI-Loader_x64.zip" to download that file. 2. Download "NL-Tag Remover" from the files tab of this mod page.
3. In the zip of "NL-Tag Remover", go all the way down through the files and copy the two files "NLTagRemover.asi" and "NLTagRemover.pdb" to your clipboard.
4. Find the install directory of Oblivion Remastered. You can right click on the game in Steam and click "Browse Local Files" to be taken there, or navigate "Steam>steamapps>common>Oblivion Remastered
5. Navigate further from "Oblivion Remastered" to "Oblivion Remastered>OblivionRemastered>Binaries>Win64" a) Paste the two files you copied into this folder.
6. In the zip "Ultimate-ASI-Loader_x64.zip" that you downloaded from Github, copy the file "dinput8.dll" and paste it to the same location you put the previous two files.
7. In the folder where you pasted "dinput8.dll", rename dinput8.dll to "version.dll"
Yep, instructions say file name doesn't matter but that's incorrect, it doesn't work until you change dinput8.dll to version.dll.
Also just to confirm for anyone else who's a badass punk rocking rule-breaker like me, you DO have to install this natively, as in, it doesn't work as a mod in MO2.

Nah, I've had asi loader work fine as a mod before. But it doesn't work with this game.
Confirming that as of April 27th, the steps outlined in this post still work, but I had to download the older 1.2 version of this mod to get the NLTagRemover.asi file as it has been removed from the most recent OBSE version. Not sure why that version isn't just listed as an alternate file with this post pinned at the top. Thanks a ton Duncan!
I already had a version.dll from another mod or tweak for the game. Is there another file name that would work instead? *EDIT* yes, it worked when I changed to a different ASI Loader dll file name. FYI see this guide for more info.
Is there a way to verify in-game whether it had been installed correctly? I still see some [NL] tags in pop-up messages, but not sure if perhaps I’ve installed it correctly and those particular tags just aren’t removed.
All NLs should be removed, check if the DLL or ASI directory contains corresponding LOG file, and what content is inside it. If no LOG file, you've installed the mod incorrectly.
Can this work with mod affected NPCs? I use the Horse Whistle mod and if I change the name of my horse using setactorfullname, the NL tag appears next to their new name.
If you edit books texts, you can't use old Oblivion formatting. Go to UE5 localization, grab the text you want, edit it and paste into plugin. You will see the difference in formatting around images. Here, an example of my correct edit. Full text is here.

This should make the mod work as intended.

That one did it for me!
You can, but need to place the .asi file in the Win64 directory.
Thanks

All my books that use images in them (most of them?) have broken image links in them now. I'm wondering if it's this mod.
Thanks.
