Coru Catha's Religion of Skyrim is a polytheistic religion expansion designed for roleplaying. Characters will discover shrines to obscure or forgotten deities, pray to any deity they know to help with the task at hand, and may eventually dedicate themselves to one deity if they so wish.

⛪Shrines⛪

The mod adds many new shrines, dedicated to foreign or lesser known deities from the Elder Scrolls pantheon, and activates many vanilla shrines that are inert in vanilla. Each new shrine comes with its own shrine blessing.

🙏Prayer🙏

The player starts the game with the "Pray" power in their powers menu. Once a day, the character takes up a meditative pose and the player can choose a deity from a list to receive their blessing. The blessing is the same as their shrine blessing but does not last as long.

Characters start the game with a small list of cultural deities. To pray to other deities, characters must first receive their shrine blessing or complete their quest. This permanently adds them to the list of deities that can be prayed to.

An optional file is available to make prayer unlimited, though this will require some degree of self control to avoid a negative impact on gameplay.

🕯️Deities and blessings🕯️

Each blessing lasts 60 minutes when received from a shrine and 30 minutes when received through prayer. Becoming Dedicated to a deity increases this duration to 90 minutes and 45 minutes respectively. The relatively short duration encourages praying before great challenges instead of treating the blessing as a permanent buff to maintain.

Divines

  • Akatosh: Increases your Armor Rating by 50 points.
  • Arkay: Increases Health by 20 points.
  • Dibella: Activate a living person in combat for 100 Magicka to calm them for 10 seconds.
  • Julianos: Increases Magicka by 20 points.
  • Kynareth: Increases Stamina by 20 points.
  • Mara: Healing spells and effects heal 15% more.
  • Stendarr: Block 10% more damage.
  • Talos: 20% chance to reduce your shout cooldown to 3 seconds.
  • Zenithar: Prices are 10% better.

Daedric princes

  • Azura: Resist 10% of magic damage.
  • Boethiah: Attacks deal 25% more damage and critical damage if the opponent is alone.
  • Clavicus Vile: People you kill have 4% chance to drop an additional enchanted item.
  • Hermaeus Mora: Scrolls are 50% more effective and are more likely to drop.
  • Hircine: Attacks deal 50% more damage and critical damage to opponents below 25% Health.
  • Jyggalag: 25% resistant to enemy enchantments and staves.
  • Malacath: Power attacks deal 20% more damage and critical damage.
  • Mehrunes Dagon: Destruction spells and effects are 10% more powerful.
  • Mephala: Sneak attacks deal 20% more damage.
  • Meridia: Undead opponents below 25% Health in melee range are destroyed.
  • Molag Bal: Power attacks, sneak attacks and bashes against living opponents restore 10 points of Health.
  • Namira: Opponents in melee range get 20% weakness to poison.
  • Nocturnal: You are 10% better at sneaking.
  • Peryite: Does 10 poison damage per second to living opponents in melee range, doubled if you are diseased.
  • Sanguine: Activate a living person in combat for 100 Magicka to frenzy them for 10 seconds.
  • Sheogorath: Activate a living person in combat for 150 Magicka to launch them with a 10 point force.
  • Vaermina: Illusion spells and effects last 10% longer.

Almsivi

  • Almalexia: Creates an enchanted armor piece every 18 minutes.
  • Sotha Sil: Creates an enchanted staff, jewelry item, scroll or spell tome every 18 minutes.
  • Vivec: Creates an enchanted weapon every 18 minutes.

Elven ancestors

  • Auriel: Sun spells and effects work on the living, daedra, and automatons at 50% effectiveness.
  • Magnus: Alteration spells and effects last 10% longer.
  • Phynaster: Health regenerates 20% faster.
  • Syrabane: Gain 10% more Mage experience.
  • Trinimac: Two-handed weapons do 10% more damage.
  • Xarxes: Magicka regenerates 20% faster.

Yokudan

  • Diagna: Take 20% less damage and stagger from power attacks and bashes.
  • HoonDing: Activate a living person in combat for 100 Stamina to fear them for 10 seconds.
  • Leki: Light armor is 10% more protective.
  • Onsi: Gain 10% more Warrior experience.
  • Ruptga: Improves standing stone effects by 20%.
  • Satakal: Attacker takes 4 points of poison damage per second if the attack is blocked.
  • Tava: Increases Movement Speed by 10%.

Elsweyr

  • Baan Dar: Gain 10% more Thief experience.
  • Rajhin: Lockpicking is 10% easier.
  • Riddle'Thar: Stamina regenerates 20% faster.

Imperial saints

  • Cuhlecain: One-handed weapons do 10% more damage.
  • Mannimarco: Raised or summoned undead do 10% more attack damage.
  • Morihaus: Bashing is 20% more powerful.
  • Pelinal Whitestrake: Attacks deal 20% more damage and critical damage to elves.
  • Reman Cyrodiil: Living allies within 30 feet get a 20 point bonus to all attributes.
  • Shor: Power attacks, sneak attacks and bashes have 10% chance to knock opponents down.

Regional and minor deities

  • Ebonarm: Heavy armor is 10% more protective.
  • Notorgo: Increases Carry Weight by 50.
  • Raen: Restoration spells and effects are 10% more powerful.
  • Sai: Pickpocketing is 10% more likely to succeed.
  • Vigryl: Can breathe underwater and swim 10% faster.
  • Y'ffre: Bows and crossbows do 10% more damage.

Primal

  • Sithis: Lose 5 Magicka per second. Kills restore 50 Magicka. Sneak attacks do extra damage based on Magicka.

Special

  • All-Maker: 20% chance to bring back your All-Maker stone power after expending it.
  • The Hist: All consumed potions are 20% stronger.
  • The Ideal Masters: Conjuration spells and effects last 10% longer.
  • Ius: Attacks have 75% chance to do no damage and 25% chance to do 400% more damage.
  • Jhim Sei: Fall 50% slower and take 50% less falling damage.
  • Q'Olwen: Spells cost 10% less Magicka.

🌸Dedication🌸

While the mod is polytheistic, characters may still wish to devote themselves to a single deity.

By being blessed for long periods of time and by committing acts of faith while under its effects, a character gradually creates a personal bond with the deity. Eventually, as the character receives the deity's blessing anew, he or she will be offered an opportunity to dedicate themselves to the deity, permanently improving the power and duration of their blessing by 50%.

Characters can only be dedicated to one deity at a time, and accepting a new dedication will replace the previous.

Rejecting a dedication will reset the bond to zero, but does not prevent the player from becoming dedicated to the deity at a later time.

By default, it takes 3 (real world) hours to receive the dedication offer, but certain acts speed up the process. See the documentation for a list of these acts of faith.

🤗Compatibility🤗

The mod is developed for Skyrim Anniversary Edition. It should also run on earlier versions if BEES (for backwards compatibility) and the following Creation Club content is installed: Bittercup, Farming, Gallows Hall, Ghosts of the Tribunal, Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, Lord's Mail, Saints & Seducers, Staff of Sheogorath, Stendarr's Hammer, Survival Mode, The Cause, Umbra.

The mod fully supports the Simonrim overhaul suite. It is mostly compatible with the Enairim overhaul suite as well, though Auriel's Blessing will not work with most Enairim sun spells until the relevant Enairim mods get updated to use standard injected keywords.
