When I ran my Smapi for the new update this was shown in red as the game loaded. Don't be surprised if you find that the mod has been integrated into the new update.
Is there an issue with using this mod in a multiplayer setting? My girlfriend and I both have this mod. Same, latest version. We have our config settings identical to each other. When we put tappers on a tree, and set the time to 1 day, it works for the first day. After that, the tappers all take 9 days. If we remove the tappers and place them again, it'll go back to the 1 day, but then break the next day. When we use this mod in a single player setting, it works flawlessly all the time. Is there a bug with multiplayer, or are we doing something wrong?
I'll look into this. I haven't really done multiplayer testing, as there isn't someone convenient around to help me do that. I should really update for the new smapi anyways.
Did you update to the new version? In theory they should work the same but there's some weird variable stuff that *could* have caused sync issues that I updated for the new smapi.
not the OP, but mine now seem to be off a bit too. I have the config file set to 5 days, as I had on the previous version of the mod. But now the oak resin seems to be taking...7? days (definitely not 5) and the maple syrup is not tapping at the same rate. It's going slower.
I didn't notice the issue again after but I did realize I had another 2 or maple trees over the oak/pine but still not enough to double the amount of maple syrup
Are you using the gatherer perk by any chance? Could that have affected your results?
I haven't been able to replicate this problem, but I modified the timers slightly in the new version I just uploaded. Please let me know if you're still experiencing issues with the new version.
In theory bundles should accept everything that is at least of the quality requested. All I'm doing to the maple syrup and other products is setting their quality to higher than 0, I don't actually modify the base item code for those in any way. So AFAIK it should work fine. Let me know if there are problems.
I did notice one thing so far: This appears in the config file: "BotanistAffectsTappers": true, (even AFTER disabling and saving it in the gmcm) unless its forcing a true for some reason and I don't know why.
There was unfortunately a major problem with 1.0.0 where the game would crash on saving with tappers in the world, so please everyone immediately update to the latest version if you were using 1.0.0.
Additionally, if you remove/uninstall BetterTappers and then load a save that has tappers placed in the world, they will all disappear. So keep that in mind. Installing the mod into existing saves is fine.
Updating/Installing Completed remove any previous version of Better Tappers. Drop the "BetterTappers" folder into your Mods folder.
I tried using the mod manager to install the mod. There was no change to game play. I don't know if this is a bug since you do state to drop the folder in to the games 'mod folder'. Since VORTEX has several folder locations, I am going to guess that you mean the games mod folder located at: "E:\steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods"
NOTE: I use 3 different drives for my steam games so your folder location WILL be different.
Are you talking about vortex? I'm not very familiar with it as I don't use it. You are infering the right folder; assuming the installation is done correctly you should end up with "...steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\BetterTappers" which should contain the bettertappers .dll and .pdb files, as well as manifest.json
If that isn't what your ending up with then this is a problem with the mod manager and I don't really know how to help with that. Make sure you actually deployed your mods after downloading this one. I'd recommend just dropping the folder in manually and seeing if it works, if you are ending up with the right folder and it's still not working then I can look into it.
It is not appearing in game for me. It appeared once last night in the Wizard's Building Book as a recipe for sale. ( I should have bought it then) It is not there today when starting the game. The mod organizer recognized the change when I reinstalled the folder from "Better Tappers-9875-0-1-0-1634181661\Better Tappers" to "Better Tappers". It does not mention where the "Heavy Tapper" is supposed to appear as a recipe or add-on. Neither does it state where it appears in your crafting tab. I do have level 9 Foraging, meeting the requirement of level 3. Mods installed: SMAPI - Stardew Modding API-SMAPI 3.12.7 Crops Anytime Anywhere 1.3.5 BetterTappers
Mod manager Vortex installed this way: E:\steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\?Better Tappers-9875-0-1-0-1634181661\Better Tappers
I changed it to: E:\steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\Better Tappers
If you think I need it to give the game more time in order for the changes to fully implement, please state so. I am not sure of the load order since the information does not appear to be supplied or offered. The list I provided is the reverse of what the mod list is in Vortex. Thank you for your time. :)
I changed it to: E:\steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\Better Tappers That filepath looks correct. The mod should work that way. There isn't another folder inside the Better Tappers folder right?

I don't currently add any new types of tapper, or change how you unlock either the regular tappers or heavy tappers. They are unlocked exactly as in vanilla. If you were seeing recipes for tappers anywhere other than the Mr. Qi shop (where you get heavy tappers in vanilla), then something other than this mod is making that happen.
To be clear, your specific problem right now is that it doesn't unlock the tapper recipe for you right? So you can't craft them? If that is the case, please try completely uninstalling the mod and run the game without it. If you still don't have access to tappers, then I'm not really sure what the problem is, but it isn't this mod. If you do have them, re-install the mod and check again. You may want to try using manual installs instead of vortex, people in the SDV discord suggest that it can be kind of wonky.
You are correct in that my issue is a local one to me. My game appears not have a Heavy Tapper recipe at the Wizard or a device for a heavy tapper in my Tools Tab on my character. I appreciate you trying to help my and I thank you very much for your time.

I've noticed Automate doesn't play nice with the way I have time's setup, this will be fixed on next update, which should be soon.

This will be fixed as soon as I post a new update.

Regardless, endorsed and looking forward to when we're all on the same version :-D
Please let me know if you encounter more issues.
As a consequence of the fix, SpaceCore is now required for BetterTappers to work:
