Were you ever annoyed by the fact the game holds your hand no matter what? That every single location of consequence you could visit is very clearly highlighted, that every single objective is marked by witcher senses and that the entire detective part of the game is just walking X amount of meters then clicking Z to finish the quest because all plot points could be solved by a gorilla? #MeToo yet fixing all of those issues would be extremely difficult without a proper modkit which should arrive around 2024. Till then we will have to make do with what is available hence I present: Cliff Salt Removal. In other words the mod removes large white spots from climbable cliffs in game which were added there just to guide the player. On a first playthrough they are semi-useful yet later down the line you realize the developers added them in far, far too many locations and stuff like that ruins immersion.
The mod should work on both 'Next Gen' and 'Classic" versions of the game. The mod is fully compatible with The Witcher 3 NextGen Rocks from HDRP no matter which mod has priority.
How exactly did you make this mod?
I made a bunch of blank transparent texture files with the use of photoshop and used them to override the default salt textures as they are not actually a part of the main cliff textures.
Could those rock formations even be called cliffs?
No idea. I am not a geologist and used the term cliff due to a lack of a better word. The map layout was made with gameplay over realism anyway.
Are those white parts really salt?
The games files claim so.
