X:Reemergence is an attempt to expand X4 in a meaningful way by reintroducing sectors from X3, reshaping the galaxy map, and adding in a new faction: OTAS. This also is a full integration of my New Xenon War mod (unpublished) which I've been testing and tweaking for several months now. More details will be provided below in what has become a mammoth of notes.
I learned how to build this mod by dissecting DeadAir's various mods, Uncharted Skies, Farnham's Legend, SVE, VRO, and Sira's Boron Gates. As such, in the current Beta state, this mod contains a few bits of DA's expeditionary code for OTAS, 4 SVE ship models for OTAS, and is built entirely around VRO compatibility and features an audio fix for the LX bomber and it's torpedo functions integrated into the new PX. My intention behind any remaining assets are to 1) increase compatibility to DA's AI mods for OTAS and 2) increase ship diversity for OTAS. I want to replace the SVE ship models with new ones but these will do for testing purposes.
TL:DR - new sectors, new faction with unique ships and gear, 2 new Xenon size-M ships, and Xenon Defender & Reclaimers spawns.
In total the mod adds ~75 new clusters to the game with some being multi-sectored and connected via Superhighways (except 1) and every game sector except for Grand Exchange has been moved to a new location and factions territories have been shifted as a result. The Superhighway Ring and local highways are completely removed as well.
Argon Federation [ARG]
* Moved "Northwest" and remains broken into 2 areas as-is following Split Vendetta
* New Nyana's Hideout (claimed), Elena's Fortune, and Interworlds to Split area to strengthen the isolate Argon against Zyarth
* New Herron's Nebula and Montalaar to the Argon core area. Montalaar is a dead end connected directly to Argon Prime. Herron's Nebula connects to The Reach and leads into the unclaimed "Boron" area
* Silent Witness I now connects to Heart of Light instead of Profit Center Alpha. This puts the Argon in direct confrontation with the new OTAS faction. It also connects to Bala Gi's Joy which acts as a buffer between Windfall IV and Grand Exchange
Antigone Republic [ANT]
* Moved "North-Northwest" and has been condensed for ease of view and continuity
* Changed Frontier Edge to connect into Getsu Fune's East gate. This is to add even further pressure into the sector and ideally make it a challenge for the Terrans and/or Antigone to fully control. This was also to prevent further scattering of Antigone forces following Power Circle connection
* New Power Circle cluster to connection in Second Contact IX which further connects to the new Matrix #79A attached to moved Matrix #79B
* New Teladi sector, Teladi Gain, connected to The Void
* If Farnham's Legend Rev. is installed, Second Contact XI will connect to this as well. [not fully implemented] as the mod has not been made compatible yet
* (Please provide Feedback on these changes; I am concerned that there is far too much pressure against Antigone vs the Xenon to actually hold their own even with the Terrans pushing into Getsu Fune)
Holy Order of the Pontifex [HOP]
* Moved "North-Northeast" with a new enclave far "Southwest" to counter PAR's enclave and some reconfiguring of the local gates
* Several new sectors to the HOP core area: Pontifex's Seclusion (claimed) connected to True Sight, Duke's Domain connected to Lasting Vengeance, Sanctum Verge connected to Pontifex's Claim, and the Perpetual Sin cluster connected to Cardinal's Redress, Sanctum Verge, and Unholy Descent
* Unholy Descent acts as a buffer between the new Split/Boron area and Kha'ak Sector Alpha [not fully implemented]
* New enclave is set with a single wharf and is intended to be in direct conflict with the PAR area added in Split Vendetta. These are Duke's Vision I, connected to new Wretched Skies cluster, Duke's Vision II, and both to Loomanckstrat's Legacy
Godrealm of the Paranid [PAR]
* Move "East" with no reconfiguring of the local gates
* Additional sectors added: Cathedral of Xaar connected to Pious Mists IV, Clarity's End connected to Sacred Relic and Xaar's Belt cluster, Perdition's End connected to Trinity Sanctum VII and Xaar's Belt cluster, and new Xenon sector Desecrated Skies to Xaar's Belt cluster
* New Wretched Skies cluster [not fully implemented] connected to Wretched Skies X, Duke's Vision I, and new Recovered Capital (TEL).
* New Danna's Chance connected to Litany of Fury IX
* Moved Litany of Fury gate connections. Litany of Fury IX now connects to Danna's Chance and Loomanckstrat's Legacy while Litany of Fury XII connects to Emperor's Pride IV and Wretched Skies X. This was to encourage travel through both subsectors and split potential battles vs HOP and XEN apart
Teladi Company [TEL]
* Moved "Southeast" but also scattered across the galaxy
* Took more inspiration from X3 with the distribution of Teladi Sectors. They retain their core area which remains mostly unchanged overall
* Isolated Grand Exchange/Path to Profit/Eighteen Billion which is connected to Spaceweed Grove that acts as a buffer against new Xenon Bad Debt (First sector from my New Xenon War mod)
* Moved Memory of Profit IX and X to "behind" Argon Core connected via Morning Star III
* New Teladi Gain in Antigone space and new Recovered Capital to Wretch Skies area
* Isolated Open Market and Two Grand so they only service ZYA, the Argon area, and eventually Free Families. New Wastelands sector acts as a buffer to the Free Families
* Changed Company Regard to connect to Scale Plate Green VII and to the new Mines of Fortune. Scale Plate Green I now connects to Turquoise Sea X and then Turquoise Sea XI connects to Mines of Fortune and the new Shadows of Giants cluster
* Altered Hewa's Twin configuration. Connected IV to V instead of III to V and adjusted Superhighway [implemented but kinda broken]
Zyarth Patriarchy [ZYA]
* Moved "South-Southwest" along with the related areas
* Reconfigured Family Kritt and Family Zhin gate connections. Rhy's Defiance connects to Southwestern gate in Family Zhin and Tharka's Cascade XV connects to Family Kritt North gate.
* Wretched Skies IV connects to Family Kritt's West gate and to new Recovered Capital (TEL)
* Wretched Skies V connection to Heretics End switched to North
* Zyarth's Dominion X connects to both new Zyarth's Stand and Zyarth's Fall
* NEW COLONIES NOTATED BELOW
* (The idea behind these changes was to actually reduce the pressure on Family Zhin by forcing a single Xenon core sector to split against both it and the Zyarth core area. Family Kritt continues to stand alone but now is the primary connection via the Argon core. The new Zyarth sectors hopefully will help if Family Zhin falls but they intentionally lack methane )
Free Familes [FRF]
* Move "Southeast" and overall layout remains unchanged despite being turned
* Gate connection between Family Tkr and Matrix #451 broken
* New Ghinn's Escape connection to Thuruk's Demise III
* Moved Family Tkr and Ianamus Zura VII connections to Thuruk's Demise II -- (now you will have to see the devastated crater when travelling to/from TEL)
Terran Protectorate [TER]
* Moved "North" and turned some but gate connections remain unchanged*
* 4 new sectors: Mercury Beta, Mars Beta, Oort Cloud Beta, and Matrix #01. Each beta connected to their respective hosts with Matrix #01 connected to Oort Cloud Beta
* Move Uranus connection to Titan
Segaris Pioneers [PIO]
* Moved "North-Northwest" above Argon and below Terran. Gate connections unchanged but moved
* New sectors Megnir (claimed), Althes, and Matrix #48. Megnir connects to both Segaris and Althes. Althes connects to Megnir, Matrix #48, and the new "Boron" area via Mists of Elysium
* If Farnham's Legend Rev. is installed, Segaris will connect to this as well. [not fully implemented] as the mod has not been made compatible yet
Queendom of Boron [BOR]
* Move to "West". Gate connections remain unchanged, just shifted.
* Sanctuary of Darkness orientation, connections, gate locations remain completely untouched for quest purposes. 2 New gates added to both Kha'ak Sector Beta and to Shining Currents
* New sector, Kha'ak Sector Beta connected via Sanctuary of Darkness East gate
* New area connected via Sanctuary of Darkness Southwest gate. Shining Currents, Dark Waters, and the Xenon controlled Depths of Silence
* New connection between Watchful Gaze and Emperor's Pride IV activates when Heretic's End connects
* New "Boron area" North of Kingdom core which is connected via Menelaus' Oasis North gate. Contains Reservoir of Tranquility, Mists of Elysium, Light Water, and Shore of Infinity
* Small isolated and struggling Boron colony in Shore of Infinity without a shipyard or a wharf. Minor exposure to the Boron who are mostly reliant on other factions to survive until the Queendom activates
* NEW COLONIES NOTATED BELOW
* (The new gate in Menelaus' Oasis is set to activate when the Kingdom Core is accessible)
Vigor Syndicate [VIG]
* New connection to Bala Gi's Joy via Windfall IV which acts as a buffer between TEL and ARG
* New Matrix #695A/B connection to Windfall III
* (From my testing the Xenon connection is a death sentence for VIG due to the capital ships. This might need to be either fully removed or downgraded to just a wharf. This is the 2nd sector from my New Xenon War mod)
OTAS [OTAS]
* New Faction located "Center-South"
* 6 new sectors; 4 claimed: Light of Heart, Aladna Hill, Akeela's Beacon, and Legend's Home Alpha. 2 unclaimed: Moo-Kye's Revenge and Legend's Home Beta
* All 12 returning X3 ships + new Battleship class, the Daedalus (Cadius throwback)
* Light of Heart connections to Silent Witness I, Profit Center Alpha, Moo-Kye's Revenge, and Aladna Hill (OTAS core connection)
* OTAS is initially hostile towards most of the Commonwealth but especially the Argon Federation following the events of X3:FL
* OTAS equipment is better than Argon; between 1.5% and 3%. This makes them objectively better but still with varied stats to other factions
* OTAS designations for Carrier, Builder, Supplier using new audio lines but Argon models
* OTAS "Stalwart" variants of non-OTAS ships using the "Sentinel" variants' stats. These stats and prices will be changed but.. beta beta beta
* OTAS unique L-missile turret and torpedo for the size-L Aquilo. (balance pass likely needed)
New Boron/Split Colonies
* Isolated area of space connecting to HOP expansion Unholy Descent (Split) and PAR's Sacred Relic (Boron)
* Contains 3 clusters/4 sectors each. Shipyards, Wharfs, Trading stations for each, and an expansion sector for each connecting to a shared Xenon threat
* At the moment there these gates activate once the connection to Kingdom End is made. These sectors are isolated from each other so there will not be a Split vs Boron vs Xenon war until that connection is made.
* (We've discussed this several times over and ultimately it is something I put in while writing the gate code This may need to change in the future following testing and feedback. I am also strongly considering making the Split colony here Free Families instead of Zyarth.)
Misc.
* New sectors: Blue Profit, The Vault, and (Xenon) PTNI Headquarters in middle connected to Moo-Kye's Revenge
* Intended to be a Xenon threat for OTAS and a potential serious threat for Grand Exchange. No more safety among the giant
* New Ocracoke's Storm cluster connects to Great Trench (Boron/Split Colonies) and further to Shadows of Giants cluster. Currently unclaimed. Future plans in works. These are not accessible until the Kingdom End connection is made.
* New Shadows of Giants cluster connects to Turquoise Sea cluster and Ocracoke's Storm Cluster
* New Kha'ak Sector Gamma connects to Silent Witness XII
* Currently the new disconnected Unknown Sector, Unknown Kha'ak Sector, and Kha'ak Hive are not fully implemented. These will be accessible via anomalies
New Xenon War -- This fully integrates my previous mod and the associated time base-defensive waves that spawn to help protect Xenon core sectors (where Shipyards and Wharfs are). This also includes the script which DeadAir very generously helped guide me and created to spawn Xenon Reclamation fleets: essentially a "boss" wave that spawns whenever a Xenon core sector ownership changes from Xenon to anything else. This can happen multiple times for the same sector. I can provide more info on what exactly New Xenon War has on Discord and this post is already way too long.
I need to note though; I have not gotten a chance to fully test this on the new Xenon sectors but it previously worked for the vanilla core sectors + my Bad Debt and Matrix #695B.
