Should probably add a note that changing dlss dlls or settings in nvidia profile inspector will trigger shaders to recompile and cause massive stuttering for the first few minutes after loading a game, so people stop spamming that this mod causes stuttering. Also, correct RR preset is actually preset E when using DLSS 4, and preset K causes ghosting and blurry image.
1.1.1 is god damn amazing. You've solved the texture streaming issue it's so noticeable, I'm super happy you were able to work out the skyintensityNight as well I must say everything is just so good haha.
Wow, finally got this dialed in perfect on my 4090 and it is absolutely phenomenal! I still smile when I see clear reflections on all those little puddles and shiny spots in caves and ruins, but madre de dios the lighting! I loved your work on Cyberpunk but this is something else. Really the chef's kiss on this masterful remake of the classic RPG.
I did add one thing in tandem that I'm not sure conflicts or not? I didn't notice any issues but I installed Enable Fog In Reflections. Honestly it probably isn't necessary if it does work together since the main problems I had with non SSR Lumen reflections (toothpick trees, spotlight mountain snow, etc.) are all naturally cleared up with this mod. Still would be nice to hear an official yay or nay.
Seriously thanks so much for this, its just fantastic. :)
Just noticed that the interior fog options do not appear to be working. I wanted to try the disable_emissive setting, but after not seeing any difference I set it to full on and it definitely isn't doing anything. All the other options appear to be working.
EDIT: With Lazorr's help on Discord we determined that SkylightLocationProfile can't be off for DisableFogIndoors to work. Also, my UltraPlusConfig.ini was reverting every time I ran the game. Setting it to read only after making all my desired changes before running the game finally got DisableFogIndoors=disable_emissive working, and it looks nice. :)
The way the mod manager for Ultra+ auto-installs UE4SS is awkward because a lot of mods for this game are now using UE4SS and one would like to control one's UE4SS installation separately.
At the moment, I'm fudging it by simply copying and replacing Ultra+ related bits in order to update, but that means the version number in the Ultra+ mod manager install tab is out of date (I know I can change that manually, but it's not clear whether that's intended).
And now I've discovered that the UE4SS settings that comes with this mod is a different size from the one that comes with UE4SS.
Could you please clarify what's going on and what the best procedure is with this situation? It feels like Ultra+ is "bullying" (as it were :) ) the way UE4SS is set up, where one would prefer to control one's UE4SS installation as a separate thing, and the installs for the various UE4SS mods and this mod as separate things each.
hey! i would just use our UE4SS (and let UMM install it) ... for the other mods that use it, just copy their files from their \mods\ folder (but not UE4SS)
Can't really do that (well I could but it would be too much of a palaver), as I was already using UE4SS and several mods before Ultra+
I think you need to differentiate, preferably offer a version of Ultra+ (but without the UE4SS) that could be plonked in manually on an already-existing UE4SS installation. (I mean, that's what I do now, painstakingly extract the bits out and live with the out-of-date numbering on Ultra+ but it would be much handier for a package to be made at your end if possible.)
One question: say I set the game to settings that run well on my system. I install the mod and keep the exact same settings (GI high). Does it slightly decrease the performance, boosts it or keeps it the same?
The description reads like it helps with performance (while making it look better)as long as you don't activate the extra goodies.
There are several presets with U+, or you can set it up yourself. I go on discord and usually "steal" Lazorr's (author's) settings ;) basically you can make it run how you need it too
I really like some features from this mod, but i want to have mix of another mod's engine.ini tweaks and optimisations. Is there some engine.ini lines to disable fog indoors emissive and DLSSAutoExposure?
Amazing mod! I can play this game on my RTX 3080 at 4K with DLSS 4, high settings, hardware RT set to low, and advanced lighting mode, getting 60–70 FPS outdoors. It looks incredible compared to vanilla. I'm also using frame generation and Special K for HDR support. Input lag is virtually nonexistent with the proper settings.
The biggest issue is VRAM usage and stuttering. I've seen a lot of improvement in that regard with version 1.0.2 - around 400–500 MB less VRAM usage, which reduced stuttering for me. But I’m not sure if that’s truly due to the update or because I downgraded the frame generation version at the same time.
Anyway, I used this mod with STALKER 2 and now with Oblivion, and it's the best mod for Unreal Engine 5 I can recommend.
There are a few fantastic ue4ss mods that Id like to run alongside this. I have ue4ss setup all manually. Are these things going to clash and create strange visuals in-game? Running all 3 of these: https://next.nexusmods.com/profile/mountcydonia/mods?gameId=7587 Also getting some weird artifacts on the back of my characters head while in motion. More towards the base of the neck/on hair
